Is a boss asking too much if they want you to review what you learned during the work day during your unpaid personal time?

Like, isn't that against employees' rights to be expected to do anything work-related in their personal, unpaid time? Or is reviewing what you recently learned a faire request, even though they expect you to do it for free?
