What do I do now that my store manager was fired?

My store manager was fired today I'm the assistant manager.

the district manager i asked me how i would feel about doing it i just said yes

Seems like I'm the acting store manager till they find a store manager.

i don't drive but it's easy to get to work bus or Lyft ride & I have a slight learning disability.

i dont want to be the the acting store manager

How long do you think you'll be acting as manager until they transfer one over to your store? If you run into any major issues, do you have someone to call for advice in the mean time? You might not have to tough it out for very long, hopefully.

I’ve been in a similar position and I’d advise you to reach back out to the district manager as soon as you can to let them know you spoke too quickly and should’ve thought about this a bit more before agreeing. Tell them that while you greatly appreciate the consideration, stepping into a bigger role just doesn’t work for you right now, and offer to do what you can to help transition another candidate into that role. Don’t overthink it, just let them know ASAP.

I would say try it out, you never know, it might be a great fit. If it isn't working then contact the district manager and let him know it's not working out as acting gm

Maybe give it a try and see if you really don't want to do it after that, to make sure it's not just a fear of change situation.
