Does my manager regret hiring me?

I internally transferred to a new position in the company. I am in the training. And the trainer told me that my new manager asked him to let him know if he thinks he made the right choice and hired the right candidate? why would he say this? Is he having doubts about hiring me?

Don't overthink it. Your trainer should not have said that to you. Training just started, so just do the best you can. They can't really make a good eval early in training.

I see no reason to think that at all. He just wants to know what progress you are making, so don't over think it.
