Have you ever been sent home from work early or told to take off due to high labor (overstaffing)?

At my current job, the last couple of nights, they have been sending people home early due to "high labor metrics," as deemed by corporate. The thing is, we have been busy, and we only have 6-7 people in the restaurant, and pretty much the employees that do stay have to run like a chicken with its head cut off. The drive-thru wait time is high, and the people at the counter are having to wait long times. So why are labor metrics so high when we are short-staffed? it makes no sense at all.

As of 2023 I’ll be on the job sixteen years & from the day I started to the current date knock on wood I have never been sent home. In addition & as per my contract if the jokers upstairs send me home they will be sending me home with pay until I return.

when i worked retail they'd let some people go home early if it was slow. if the company can't profit due to labor then what's the point of being open? unfortunately, that means some people have to work their asses off

Many Time was great especially since it always was on Friday so early week end for me

of they would just let me do nothing like thé only things i had to do was watch thé children and make sure they don’t injure themselves or fight each other

Yes, it's scummy and an embarrassment. Don't hire so many people at a time if you can't deal with it
