-  Sporting good store-  I was the only one on the team aside from the team lead that was doing anything. Plus i couldn’t handle watching people wreck the store as i was trying to pick up during it. And tbh, I just wanted to work there for all the hot guys but #1 i kept running into exes and #2 i had a boyfriend by time they hired me, so I had to turn down all the offers. Sad times lmao. -  Dept of Ed-  I turned down the supervising position that was offered to me after a year in because I didn't want to steal away an opportunity when I knew deep down, I’d up and quit. I despised those rudeass students, but stayed for 4 years until I finally faked a panic attack as an excuse to quit lol. Good times. - Appointment Setter - I felt like Inspector gadget because i was just about doing the home inspections more than appointment setting. The inspectors were worthless and always lying to people. I suck at sales and just told them the truth like dude your house is fine. Then i wanted to quit after 6 months but the company had a merger 4 months in. - Medical University Qualifier Bullshit - I haven’t quit yet but its either that or get fired. My internet provider is having issues across the nation. I find out today my boss has the same internet with the same issues at the exact same time as me, yet this uglass hoe got the nerve to say I will have to take the day off if it continues 💀 And she keeps asking me to do speed tests while its down. OMG - I worked in a sports store too hmmm , I won't say how many years ago..

Its a long list..

1. MSD ; Sports Store 4 years , made it to store manager Chadstone store now a very very impressive shopping centre ; had my own following of school girls haha , but they were all too young ; left eventually just because I felt I needed to do something else.

2. API trading ( Sports again ) , department buyer , and really the only sales person , big department store ( by Aussie standards ) - General manager was a prick , extremely stressful , thats why I left --also had another job in Golf , also needed to get away from my teenie cheer leaders ( very embarrassing ) ..

3 . Ray Drummond Golf Shops - Easy and fun , no stress , in City , really loved it - left because I wanted to get company car

4 . Murphet / Regency - Greeting cards , games and axillary products , great job autonomous and I was young - learnt so much , lots of fun , fully maintained car --left because I hated doing the samples , did my Christmas orders and it was way below budget , and couldnt see how I could make up the ground -- offered another role with car by a guy at the golf club --

5. K. Topliss and CO - Drycleaning supplies - Sales representative , awesome role , loved it , did well great relationships , easy , smaller company , incredible to work for , driving entire state , office in North Melb , long way away , mainly autonomous although not as much as Murphett - Left because I was offered Bic Australia sales representative

6. Bic Australia ( 9 Years ) Started as Sales representative , made it all the way though to State Sales Manager ( Vic / Tas ) , some great things happened , but 9 years on I was pushing hard for change ( mobile phones and notebook computers - a BIG deal then ) plus other things -- Got the Sack ( first time ever - ) they set me up. This was actually a serendipity , although it didn't seem like it at the time --

7 . Land Subdivisions - started with RPM real estate , about to start 25 years in New homes and Land - Did 2 years with RPM , left because I had the chance to work direct for a large developer , first start to some serious $$$

8. from there over 20 years in land - Dennis Family Corp ( 9 Years ) - Vic Urban -Vic Govt 2 years , left because offered new project - Australand / Frasers Property around 11 years , made money , make great money , invested , purchased property , listed REITs , self funded , now making passive , left because started new project ( Very stressful ) but made money , invested - by now wanted passive income with no stress , a hatred for the marketing department , arseholes..

9. Passive income via Investments , moved overseas , remove all stress , retain assets in Australia and live overseas -- self employed - nothing beats it..

- Always in the end Id get pissed off about something , but 6-7 days a week can be extremely stressful , and difficult to deal with , I did all that to be free later..

Have done a little " work " since , Company work , but if anything happens I dont like , I just leave , headed back to Thailand ( home ) in February.

here's my golden rule for myself that I failed to honor: When it's no longer fun and rewarding, leave!

It's really that simple. Of course caveat if you have no other options and choices, but most of us can get to where we have some options most of the time.

I was there too long, working for someone that was a terrible person and it was time to leave. I was tortured, murdered, and fired for failing to do a good job... after 25 years straight of top notch success.

Put your heart into your work... but don't leave it there... it doesn't belong there...

It's ok... it's just a job. What is relevant is the things of value, the experiences you had, the laughter, engaging with people an changing lives. Work never ends...

I have only had one career type job, which is the one I am in now and I have not quit or been fired from it. The other stuff, hmm:

Babysitter: This isn't like an actual job you quit it is more like a bunch of separate small jobs but I am listing it to say as you see my list, be aware that I would babysit to fill in time and make money along w other stuff. I still babysit sometimes for people who know me although it is a lot less often than it used to be.

Server/waitress at a diner: I quit this when I started college half an hour away and moved on campus w/o a car.

Hostess at a restaurant near campus: I quit this when I decided I would make more money as a waitress.

Server/waitress at a different restaurant near campus: I quit when I had too much going on in class and personal life to have time for it (also did not like the boss).

Server/waitress at Hooters: I quit due to a personal situation w another employee.

Library assistant at the campus library: I quit due to getting super busy in class and personal life, plus my boss hitting on me.

I was fired from my job 3 years ago (before the pandemic) and I worked there for 15 years. The reason for them to let me go was that the the chairman of the board wanted me to be more proactive and go the extra mile and not get stuck on the tasks I was only hired for. Well I always did more than what I was hired from anyway. I was at the front desk of the company and I did many things there nbot just answering calls I was the support of many departments and do many things including I was the one who had to bill some invoices, plus answering the call, s receiving and greet visitors, and other stuff and I never had any assistance. But that was theri excuse but I believe the real reason was anotehr one. Then came the pandemic and still no job (2020, 2021) and this year I also was not working as I stayed at home assisting my mom in home things also i think at my age jobs are scarce and therefore when I start to looking for a job once again next year it will be difficult for me for a company to hire me.

Lemme give you two of the most recent. Even staff-   We were getting paid dog shi to do what the concert rulers say. So when my car died, i left their emails for work on read. I get my car, notice the emails stopped and called them. They just kicked me off the list because I haven't worked for them in months... AND FOR GOOD REASON. So i asked for a chance to work with them, and i was going that weekend and I was gonna be late but it clicked for me "They're paying me so little... to be treated like soldier. And they can send me home for no reason or not ha-" Aaand I'm back at my hotel eating pizza.  Security at Ghetto Walmart-  So i was in this group chat and we had a good number of people. A go getter, a boss who had dreams but wasn't getting paid well, and a girl who was the main boss. She convinced us we were a family but when one of us couldn't make a shift, there was excuses. Or just no answer. So people started disappearing. Why? I don't know, but they did. Then my boss said i was supposed to be at a shift I didn't know I was put on due to the email didn't say so, my app didn't say so but it turned out I was wrong... deeper in the app, I was on. So boss tried to fire me but i fought back. I kept the job but we now had 5 people left... then 4. Then 3... I was the third, and i just got new shifts piled on... it was time to jump ship. Now. Now I don't even see them trying to hire on indeed. They couldn't keep no one. :/

I left my last cause well we were so damn understaffed and that left to tension with your colleagues, it was so stressful and working overhours, nobody had any motivation and that does drain you.
Besides of that my main reason was two colleagues who were a lot older and "wiser" and who just looked down on me! Everything I did they got mad at me, like once omg I turned down my phone for an hour (what is allowed!) And this one woman come into my room, nearly screaming at me how I dare to turn down my phone etc... my other work colleagues came to me afterwards and like apologized for her smh or both of them always run to my employer if they don't like what I did and like talked bad about me to him but in the end it was small stuff and could easily be solved if they just had talked to me first... I fucking hated it there.

I'm going to be leaving a doctor's office I joined. Fastest job turnaround... 2 weeks.

Doctors are not that good. The lead receptionist / "clinic manager" (joke) is borderline incompetent (crappy trainer, etc - I think she does it on purpose to keep her job as she's been there for years). No room for growth or improvement - literally I have been told everything has to be done X way (X way is inept).

And it's not me. I had their system down within a few days. I'm very adept at my job.

But there were red flags before I even started what when told they have "problems" keeping clerical staff. Something that I have heard multiple times since I joined; they constantly go through employees (either nurses or clerical). If they got rid of the clown "clinic manager" it'd be manageable at least.

It was a job for kids. Everybody working there was 15/16 one girl was even 14 and it was a “sports bar” one day I walk into work bout to clock in and I hear this bitch talking about a customer that just called and how they were “fucking stupid” and a “bitch” and that customer was my mama ! So I confronted her of course and I ended up having a panic attack and got called to the managers office of course and had another panic attack cause I was that pissed off and irritated. I hated that job. Everyone treated me like I was a child like them.

Retail:  The job was hell and the lowest of low pay back when I was in college. My district boss and the company were racist. So racist in fact, we took them to court...and legally won pay we were being denied solely based on our race despite our staff having the highest profit records in the entire district, some of the best secret shopper reports, and the most qualified management. They also fired the racist boss (I later found out that the company had several lawsuits against it for racist practices all over the country, yikes). But was that the end, nope. After being blamed for stealing...because of course "we were" even though we'd signed a written claim asking for security officers and internal security cameras to be installed 4x, the store was robbed at gunpoint with me in it, and I wasn't about to die for absolute BS. After I had managed not to get murdered on the job, I handed in my keys, walked out, and never went back.

I was fired. I work in a right to work state and my previous job was a huge corporation that was draconian and ruled by fear. After 8 years I voiced my opinion on a new policy and promptly got written up. Got written up again for saying "fuck" while working. So on and so forth until I was terminated 6 months later. I don't miss it. If they ever thought you were beging to show signs of being unhappy at work they'd pull you in for a "Review" and pull out a folder with a list of shit you did wrong and start reading. "On dec 3 at 3:47 p. m. it was observed that you were talking with a coworker until 3:54. That shows a lack of teamwork as the work isn't getting done. On..."

Public Library  quit to go to college (boss threatened to fire me if I didn't quit so id go to college) Online Paintball Store  sold it to my partner because I saw the market turning sideways. Graduate Teaching Assistant  they didn't renew my contract because they had a student from their department who wanted the job. Graduate Research Assistant  I had to quit because daddy called me back to the farm from grad school. US Census Bureau Enumerator  I didn't renew my contract after someone pulled a gun on me... He will be doing his next census in lockup as brandishing a firearm towards an agent of the federal government is taken seriously Freezer Order Picker  i picked orders for a dollar store chain in a -20°F Warehouse... I left because I didn't feel safe and was offered a better job.

So, I was making $135,000 a year salary. I wanted to leave my ex-wife and divorce her. But I knew if I did that, she would get alimony out the ass, and I would have to keep making $135,000 a year just to afford paying her.

So, I quit my job, and moved out of state and got another job with the National Park Service, for $55,000 annual. She divorced me and got no alimony.

So that is why I quit.

Well the work & contract finished. I was at one place for a long time as they kept finding new work for me. It helped that they were more focused on getting rid of permanent employees. As I was a contractor they took the view they could terminate me any time. A bit F'ed for the perms.

Worked at a bank for a couple months accused of accepting counterfeit money from a customer. Turns out the guy lied I left after they wouldn't apologize and kept it in my permanent file. I wanted to work somewhere that trust me. It worked out for the best I am now in grad school working toward being an speech language pathologist. It happened for a reason

The first job I was fired from when I was 19, was legitimately because I was lazy. A decided not to renew a contract with a job after that because they hadn't paid me all I was owed and I was in the process of suing them for the money. I did end up being rewarded the money plus extra but they declared bankruptcy and I never actually saw the money. Another I quite because it was a hostile environment. Another more recent job let me go due to cutbacks due to COVID.

The last job I left because I felt undervalued for the extra work I put in. Also, and more importantly, a manager (not really my direct manager) was undermining me (my knowledge and authority). So, I took my time and found the right opportunity and moved on (always better looking for another job when you have one, you can be very selective).

During my final year in college I was doing an internship and it was killing me, there was no scope of learning. I was literally watching Netflix during work and participating only in office fun activities. The pay was good so I did it for six months and then left saying that I got another internship opportunity somewhere else. I spent the final months in my college enjoying the money I had saved during the internship lol.
After graduation I’ve been working in a different company and I haven’t quit yet.

I got fired for supposedly snatching a child in a disrespectful and a coworker saw me but got the wrong idea. All I was doing is getting a child off a shelf and acting quickly to prevent him from falling. The coworker was cruel to me and even threatened me and told lies about me. The child was her son by the way. So yeah that's how I lost my job. I don't know if I'll be working in childcare again after that experience.

I leave jobs when they are no longer advantageous to me. I try not to burn bridges though cause I've had to go back before.

The only place that ever fired me, made bad buisness decisions and couldn’t afford to keep me. They also went bankrupt.

I did quit one job for safety reasons as death at work was too high a risk for me.
