Should I have investigated the yelps I heard?

work for a commercial cleaning company. One of the buildings I clean is hq for an internet provider. One of the foremen has a dog that hangs out in his office with him. There is this girl with a dog who also hangs out in his office. I thunk her dog was in there too. Anyways, I was cleaning and I heard a yelp sound coming from the office. I heard another one a couple mins later followed by growling. My guess was that the dogs were playing, and things got out of hands. I've seen that plenty of times. A little part of me thinks something more sinister was happening inside that office. Like the dog was being beaten or something. What do you think?
