Are modern kids as a group getting dumber and if so why?

I don't want to listen to bombers who fucked up the economy and forced their knowledge and kids to go to college and take out student loans talk condescendingly. They live comfortably and can get a retirement plan because they fucked over their kids. They had it easy.
But it's mostly the education system is dogshit. The common core is awful and we need to return to the classical core. The common core stops kids from learning because "they are not ready for that yet," while the Classical core will push them to their limits.
They learn better when the schoolwork is more challenging and enjoyable. The school work now is boring because and moves too slowly for kids. So they aren't dumber. It's the education they are getting is dumbed down too much.
Now you see all these kids with ADHD and learning problems because the kids can't work their brains hard enough.

I voted A but is is really all of them. Welfare policies reward people to have more kids, public schools have no accountability. Even when huge segments of students cannot pass competency tests the answer is usually to get rid of the tests. Technology panders to the lowest common denominator. Sites like TikTok are permanently altering the brains of young people. And of course with all the single parent homes there is very little supervision.
It's not just kids It's the entire world. We now live in a time where an Internet meme carries more weight than a scientific paper or an influencer has more credibility than a scientist.
Teachers can't teach facts any more because they're up against youtubers telling kids that schools lying to them and "here's the real truth".
To prove a point, a while back on here I mentioned the idea you can sex a sweet pepper by counting the bumps. Hardly anyone knew that a fruit is an ovary and therefore always female. These are the same people who dismiss education.
Kids have always been dumb, but they grow up and realise playground truths don't cut it in the real world. But now it seems few actually grow up.

Quite the opposite.
But that cleverness is not serving them well any more. Mainly as the mistakes and debts of their parents and grandparents curtail much of their opportunities.
40 years ago it was necessary to "learn maths" as you would never always have a calculator to hand. These days it is not even necessary to have a degree; as you can have AI and expert knowledge available at the click of a button.
Yes because teachers refuse to keep politics and ideology out of the classroom, they teach that feelings are more important than facts.
