Do you make an effort to pronounce people's names correctly?

I've recently started to try and make an effort into introducing myself - with my name pronounced correctly and I I've noticed that some people react like I just asked them to make an blood offering or something when I refuse to give them the "Danish version" until they've at least made the effort to pronounce it.

Is it really so odd that I want people to at least make a little effort to pronounce my name correctly.

Also I apologize if my English is extra off tonight - I'm tired and worked a lot

I try to but if I can’t then you have to deal with that, people don’t pronounce my name correctly a delivery driver pronounced it so wrong that it made me laugh good job she couldn’t see me.


With all the weird names people have nowadays it’s hard to even spell them never mind say them. 🤣

Oh, absolutely. I do not expect them to be able to pronounce my name, I just want people to make a slight effort - Danish people really don't like rolling their R's and belief me, I've had a LOT of giggles over names I've gotten over the years. 😂

I do like to try to pronounce everything correctly but something are just impossible, so I just think up a name to call it. 🤣 but if it’s a person and their names something unbelievable I can’t call them something else unless they say you can, then I’ll call them whatever they say is fine.

I try to. Where my parrtner and work, there are several people from other countries. At the moment, I am learning some Cyrillic letters and names.
