My director didn't give me a raise because he doesn’t like me. Please help me with my complaint speech to my manager?

The company I work for gives every employee a raise every year, but it wasn't done to me.

My director is responsible for this and he told me prove that you deserve the raise then.

By the way, he doesn't like me for noticing some of his mistakes.

I have to complain to my manager, but right now I'm not in the mood to produce the best speech. Can you help me please?

You see you skipped right over it but I'm here sitting like what does he mean by "earn" like working for the company for that full year wasn't earning it, that's how everyone else earned it so what does he mean by earn and how?

because he doesn't love me - because we had a lot of problems in the past and he got a warning because of me - so he victimizes me in this way. Maybe he's passively threatening me so I won't expose his mistakes again.

None of us can help you. What your Director means is wrote up why you deserve it. We haven't watched you work nor do we have any data on what you did for the company that makes you deserve a raise.

Well, I understand what you mean, you want to make sure I'm not a useless thing before you help me. But it is a fact that my director uses his authority for a personal matter and tries to manipulate me by making me feel like I am unqualified to legitimize his mistake. However, the fact that I am still working for this company is proof that I am useful to them and it shows that I deserve the raise. The company I work for is a company that makes a raise every year and fires you if you don't deserve it.

Actually, that's not what I meant at all. I was responding to your question. You asked us to help you with your complaint speech. I'm saying we can't do that. Any complaint speech can't just say "I didn't get a raise". It has to say, "this is why I deserve a raise" and my point was that none of us know you, or know whether your work is good or bad and so none of us can help you write that speech.

If you want that raise, you have to convince your director why you deserve it. Show them in words all the great work you do and how you benefit the company. Use real data. THAT'S how you'll get your raise.
