What would you do if it’s your first day at work and you overhear your coworkers saying that you wouldn’t be a good fit?

One of those coworkers actually decide if I’ll be able to stay. It’s my first day I don’t really know anything I don’t know why they’re already saying that about me probably because I’m shy. I overheard one of them saying that and the other one agreed saying that she didn’t think so too something like that and that they’re trying to get the best fit the job is only 13 dollars an hour so let’s see who else is going to want this job.

Turns out they had a point they already hired a girl permanently to work where i work and im just there as a placeholder until that girl comes I’m going to find a new job they kind of tricked me.

It would be illegal for me to counsel anybody to do illegal things. For example I would never urge you to somehow fuck-with with those who fuck with you; by going outside the legal means of redress. That would be irresponsible of me. But these assholes shouldn't be able to treat people this way.

Oh. You need to find a job without going through an agency. They're vampires. They make money off YOUR BACK. They are terrible. That job probably actually pays $16 or $17 dollars per hour.

You get $13 FOR THE DURATION OF YOUR EMPLOYMENT (aside from those shitty tiny raises you might get over time). The agency gets the 3 or 4 dollars EVEY HOUR that you work... just for facilitating you getting the job. That's some bullshit. That's wrong.

Apply to places directly. You will always get more money and more protection (if you get hurt for example) working for the company directly. Always. Those agencies. All of them. Are crooks. They steal from people just looking for SOMETHING because they really need anything.

If you can. Get the hell away from agencies. Hand out resumes yourself. Make the actual wage the job pays. Pretty sure you deserve at least that.

But if you can get hired on your own without an agency... at least when you look at your paycheck and think it's not enough... you don't have to think how much more it SHOULD be... if that agency wasn't robbing you of a few dollars for every hour you worked. If I heard someone say that about me, If a goal of mine was to make friends. Id change the priority to just money. Because we aren’t going to say it outloud at work but it’s a given that we’re at work to make money. But if someone comes to you to be friends, talk to them and be friends. But don’t let anyone at work make you feel bad. One thing my grandma told me about people at work is people say things based on how their day is going. If something went wrong they’ll be frustrated or mad and they say something to in this case you and say you won’t fit in. But basically just don’t think about it and it’s just words and they can’t hurt you. If you do think about it, use it as motivation to stick it to them and do more than fit in and be a leader there. That’s what I do whenever anyone says something disrespectful about me. But good luck there I know you’ll do great!

co-workers are bored and have no life but it's your 1st day so the best thing to do is keep your mouth shut and your ears open to see in upcoming days which one of the 2 faced shit talkers try striking up a friendly conversation and when it happens give simple positive answers and you will see them throwing other co-workers under the bus
