My mom isn’t allowing me to pursue my dream because it’s expensive and I owe her money still from when I was laid off. What should I do?

Okay bare with me, I’m still waking up. Lol.
So I recently got a new job making 150K…working in high finance. That’s what I was also making before I lost my job. Between that time period, things got crazy and I needed help with bills. I’m currently paying her $500 a month until it’s paid off. The problem is, at the same time, I want to get back into riding horses competitively next year and my mom is highly advising against it. My horse died a week before Christmas and before that we were really competing together. So now I’m left with no horse and it’s something I’m really good at so I don’t want to give it up. The shows are expensive but I can afford it with my salary. I’m not looking to buy a new one for a while - just lease. I just don’t know how to make my mom happy since I still owe her money while I’m looking to also ride/show again.
