There is this apartment i really like. And I am fed up of my family.
However I am not working at the moment and now I feel confused about whether to get the apartment which would be funded by my savings, or wait until my income starts again.
It is absolutely beautiful as an apartment and I have a feeling the fact that I would get to live there in itself would incentivize me to find a job asap.

This job market is WAY worse than 2 years ago, with tons of companies cutting big numbers of jobs. I would absolutely not commit yourself to a lease without a source of income. Why can't WANTING to move out be your motivation to find a job?
Because I am in hell right now.
Imagine the hell of burning through your savings, destroying your credit rating, and having to move back there. It's still advisable to get the job first.
Hmm you have a point.
I am wondering, do you think I should keep this apartment as an apartment I have in mind down the line, and focus on moving out temporarily somewhere smaller?
I feel like in the situation I am in right now, I don't feel like doing anything. It's just... living like a zombie.
If you MUST move out now, then, yes, do so as inexpensively as possible. You can easily move again later.
Remote work is hard to find without an impressive resume. A source of income has to be secured before you can consider going independent. Good luck
No, get a job 1st.
