Agile Project Management, should I go through with this?

I’m currently a social media manager at a website, market, and software development company. I enjoy what I do, but My boss wants me to learn Agile. I already expressed disinterest in it but he’s pushing for it. I barely understand what it is or what the point of it is. He said the company would pay for my certification but he didn’t say anything about a pay raise yet to actually perform it. From what I’m seeing, it takes many hours to get certified and Project Managers make between 60k to 120k a year which I know my boss can’t afford even 60k. We’re a very small team with a very tight budget. I’m already underpaid ad it is. Another thing, I’ll be moving in a year. I’m wondering if going through with this is even worth it.

If you work for a big company with many employees and many projects running concurrently these tools can be very useful but for a small company, the return on this will probably not be worth it.
I worked for a small IT department and the CIO read an article abput ITIL and all of a sudden we all had to learn about it. I found that it was more efficient to keep everything in my head instead of making a char and using software to keep track of everything.

I say go for it, because even if it doesn't include a pay raise, it could look good on your resume. Also, why not Google it or look on Youtube for info about what it is.
