There could be several reasons why you are consistently coming close to getting a job offer but ultimately not getting the job. Here are a few possibilities:
Lack of qualifications or experience: While you may be well-qualified for the job, there could be other candidates who have slightly more experience or qualifications that make them a better fit for the role.
Interview skills: You may be doing well on paper, but not presenting yourself as effectively during the interview process. This could include anything from not making a strong enough impression to not answering interview questions in a way that effectively highlights your skills and experience.
Cultural fit: It's possible that you are technically qualified for the job, but don't fit in well with the company culture or the team you would be working with.
External factors: There may be external factors at play that are beyond your control, such as changes in the job market or company restructuring.
If you are consistently coming close to getting job offers but not quite making the cut, it may be worth seeking feedback from the hiring managers or recruiters to understand what you could do differently or better in future job applications. Additionally, you could seek the help of a career coach or mentor to help identify areas for improvement in your job search process.
I’ve given up on my hunt for a Marketing job it’s just so competitive. I’m just going to apply for general Administration jobs which will be a lot easier
It's understandable to feel discouraged when job hunting, especially in a competitive field like marketing. However, don't give up just yet. It may be worth considering other strategies to increase your chances of landing a marketing job, such as networking or gaining additional skills through courses or internships.
If you do decide to apply for general administration jobs, that's okay too. It's important to keep an open mind and be flexible in your job search. You never know, you may find a job that leads to opportunities in marketing down the line. Good luck with your job search!
