Phone vs face to face interview, which do you prefer?

face to face that way i can look at the prick in the eyes. a few times i dealt with some 50-60 year old slobs who thought they were big shit because they ran some shitty mediocre retail store like home depot and a supermarket and i sat there thinking these guys are a fucking joke they're working from a fucking cubical making mid to maybe high 5 figures a year if that maybe low 6 if they're lucky while they pay their employees shit and treat them like garbage. it was pure fucking comedy and i sat there thinking there are broads on the internet who take off their clothes for a living who make 6 figure incomes sometimes and i sat there thinking these poor son of a bitches are probably relying on their shitty 401k pension plan for when they retire which will be shit in the end especially if they don't have their bosses match what they put in

I would rather come in person. I had a lot c of phone interviews and the interviewer seemed really interested in hiring me and when I came in person they would see I am not a 20 something I don't get hired. I would rather go in person and not waste time

Phone. Yeah it's less personal, harder to make an impression. But it's just more convenient for me. I don't have to travel for 30 minutes of chatting only to drive home again. A whole lot of nothing.

@BarryLiverstone If you want the job, a personal chat face to face is going to be the best option of course. But looking for a job, I always hated that process. And then potentially not getting it, all that effort for nothing when you could easily just have a phone call and it's done.

These days we tend to set something up online whether it be through google or Microsoft teams for the initial interview, then have people in for a in-person discussions afterwards to narrow it down.
