I get nervous, for example I had a manager approach me the other day that I was talking for a few minutes. I told him that in the morning there was no one to help us and then later he said well that was in the morning etc so he basically just brought it to my attention he also noticed that I have been at my job for a few years now. He told me I should move up and come to the dark side. Anyways I asked him if he was good with resumes because I have applied and nothing. When I was telling him all this I got super nervous and the by the end he said don't be afraid and those words really got to me. I got teary eyed once he left. Why do people with authority make me so nervous, I was getting a bit shy and red in the face. I also wanted to cry. I feel like some of it has to do with my childhood. Not feeling like anyone cares to listen to me. I had that from my parents like what I say isn't important. Would like to hear anyone's perspective and how they manage to overcome this

It's common for people to feel nervous or anxious around those in positions of authority, especially if they have had negative experiences in the past. It sounds like your childhood experiences may be contributing to your nervousness around authority figures.
One way to manage these feelings is to focus on building your self-confidence and self-esteem. This can involve practicing assertiveness skills, setting personal boundaries, and recognizing your own worth and value. It may also be helpful to challenge negative beliefs or self-talk that may be contributing to your anxiety.
Another way to overcome nervousness around authority figures is to practice exposure therapy. This involves gradually exposing yourself to situations that make you feel anxious, with the guidance of a therapist or trusted friend. By gradually facing your fears and building confidence in your ability to handle these situations, you may be able to reduce your anxiety over time.
Remember, it's important to be kind to yourself and recognize that it's okay to feel nervous or anxious sometimes. With practice and support, you can learn to manage these feelings and feel more comfortable interacting with those in positions of authority.
