I applied for the job 8 days ago, but today I saw the job posting was removed. I have received no answer from the company yet. For a long-term position job posting, I believe it is too soon to remove the job posting but maybe it is normal for a 5-6 months position? and it is normal I still have not been contacted if I am shortlisted for the interview?

It's not uncommon for job postings to be removed within a week, especially for short-term or temporary positions. Hiring managers may receive a large number of applications and may need to close the job posting early in order to focus on reviewing and selecting candidates.
It's also possible that the position was filled quickly, or that the company decided to cancel or postpone the hiring process for other reasons.
Regarding your application status, it's common for companies to take some time to review applications and select candidates for interviews. Depending on the size of the company and the number of applicants, it may take several weeks or more to hear back about your application.
If you haven't heard back from the company after a reasonable amount of time has passed, it's okay to follow up with a polite email or phone call to inquire about the status of your application. This shows that you are still interested in the position and are proactive about the application process.
It depends on when they posted the job. Although you applied a week ago, they might have had it up for longer, and already found a candidate. Additionally their business needs might have changed. It’s not necessarily common for either temporary jobs or permanent jobs, but it’s not necessarily rare or unheard of either.
You might still hear from them eventually. Or you might not. Gotta keep moving forward regardless tho.
