Commerce is a pretty tough stream. So is science. So is arts. Pick your poison.

He probably said that because he's unhappy with his choices, so he's trying to intellectualise / rationalise his decision.

Art is not about the intellect, it's about the subconscious.

Science is about the intellect. We train our intellect all while growing up, which is a mistake in my opinion but nobody is lacking in intellect. It's the emotional mind people need work in.
