Need advice! I’m planning to quit my housekeeping job even if I don’t have another job lined up?

I’m graduating college this June after years of hard work. During college, I worked full-time as a housekeeper in a hospital as well as a full-time student. I was able to get an internship last year, dues to this, I moved from working full-time to part-time on my other job. My internship be ending soon but they didn’t offer me a full-time employment because they are currently not hiring. I have savings that’ll help me get through by for few months but I don’t want to depend on it. Now, I feel like I am ready to leave my housekeeping job and look for another job where I can have growth opportunities and aligns with my degree. My mother says don’t quit yet, but my boyfriend said he’ll be there to support and catch me while I look for another job. My plan also while no job yet is to review for certifications. Any advice is welcome. Thank you

You could quit if you want to, live off what money you have saved. But is there a guarantee you will get a job right away? At least a job in the field you’ve gone to school for? Sure having your boyfriend help would be ok, but again how long would he have to help if you did t get a job right away? You don’t want him to resent you if it takes a long time to find a job. You’ve come this far working while attending school. What’s a few more months going to hurt until you find a new job. It may not even be that long, maybe a few weeks. I’d make sure I have a new job secured before I left. Once you secure a new job you may even be able to start a week or two later. If you went the route of your boyfriend’s offer, could he really provide for both of you w out putting a financial burden on himself?

He may be your boyfriend, but you shoud stay independant. Any help you do get is just a bonus.

Your mum is right. It is much easier to get a new job when you are already working. I have just resigned from my job in Netherlands, as I already have a new one lined up in UK.
