I want to learn Spanish, French, Portuguese, and Italian language. As an influent English speaker, which language is recommended to learn first? And which one is the last to learn?
I think Spanish has the greatest number of words in common and you immediately have a vocab of about 20,000 words. That is sort of handy. Of course it is more complicated and I think for native English speakers gender is going to be the challenge. Why is a phallic shaped pen feminine?
I have not managed to learn a romance language so maybe don't listen to me. If you have friends who are native romance language speakers then that is probably the one to go for. I tried to learn Spanish but it was always academic.

Spanish would be the slightly easier one... and also the most widely spoken around the world, especially if you're in the USA... you would have it much easier to practice it with other people that know it as well but the same could be said about French in you live in certain parts of the world

Ease of learning? Spanish. Portuguese has similarities to Spanish. Then Italian and lastly, French. Hardest thing for me was the order- in English it's a "yellow pencil". In other languages it's a "pencil of yellow".
The simplest Romance languages for an English speaker are in order Italian/Brasilian Portuguese, French, Portugal Portuguese/Spanish and Romanian.
Spanish, yo hablo español.
