When you post on GaG, what measurements do you use?

Some questions on GaG require an answer that contains a measurement. How tall are you? How much do you weigh? What is your commute distance to work? And the very common question... how big is your penis?

Most of the world uses Metric, while a few countries use Imperial measurements (like the US).

When you answer, what measurements do you use?

I used both Imperial and Metric as I'm a Mechanical Engineer and have to be able to deal with both, installing new plant and repairing old vintage plant, There is no inherent strength in either system just a different way of describing the same things, for youngsters the metric system is easier but If they intend to enter the STEM fields then knowing both is an advantage. a lot of schools and colleges have dropped the Imperial system which leaves any student wanting to enter STEM behind the curve before they even start.

This depends on the ''asker'':

I live metric in general;

but some cultures have difficulties to be bright enough to convert data into different systems.

I sometimes feel tempted to use:

- (as examples) two thirds of a dozen, or fractions of cubic grams, etc.

also:

deka miles or kilo ounces are funny as hell :)

If I'm measuring at home I'll use metric but in speech or here on gag, I'll use rounded-off imperial. I think it's one of those things you adjust depending on who you're talking to.

For work purposes normally metric only.

I typically use Imperial measurements but I occasionally use metrics if I know I am talking to a European and the conversation concerns distance.

Being an American, I use anything but metric system
So , if someone asks me "How much do you weigh" ... I would say , about 900 hamburgers

I am familiar with both. Building materials in Canada still often use the Imperial System, whereas, most everything else is metric.
