Say for example, the topic of mental disorders came up and someone who went to school for psychology basically takes over the entire conversation by discrediting everything you say just by saying “That isn’t right, you’re wrong. I went to school and studied this.” And “That’s not true, that’s not correct.” Like, they have a rebuttal for everything you say because they studied mental disorders in its entirety.

Talking to people like that is so annoying! Always trying to show off how much they know. Like we get it dude, you studied psychology but trust me some stuff is just common sense too ya know?
Next time they try to shut you down like that I'd just be like "dude relax, I'm just sharing my opinion. We don't all gotta be experts on everything". Then if they keep going I'd say something like "alright Professor, we get it you're super smart. Can we talk about something more interesting now?"
Or you could also just change the subject to something you're both not "experts" on so they can't lords their degree over you. Talk sports or movies or music or whatever.
And if they still won't chill, sometimes you just gotta be like "bro you talking over me the whole time is really bringing me down. How about we have a conversation and not just you giving a lecture?" If they're actually your friend they'll get the hint.
Don't let people make you feel small just cause they went to school. We all got different experiences, right? Just do you.
"congratulations, you took a high school class on the subject, you're a real professional" something like that
