Maybe “doesn’t communicate well” isn’t the right term lol. But my cousin is usually quite talkative as she’s been on a TV program before and knows how to engage well with others. But for some reason when she’s around family members, she’s the total opposite. She literally gives one word replies and doesn’t ask questions or does anything to further the conversation. It’s so frustrating trying to have a whole conversation with her. She’s coming over and we will be alone for a few hours. How can I keep a conversation going with her without it having to sound as if I’m interrogating her lol?

I fail to see where TV and family equates. For in one whe is reading from a script or bullet points and another it's improv within a family context. But I digress with the usual points:
Talk about her interest, opinions, etc.
Alternatively just leave her alone
seems like she is not interesting in talking with you
you may try ask her about her interests but if she is just giving one worl replays and vibes are off, she doesn't actually want to talk
Remember its not your job to make a conversation, so dont preassure ysf, if she is closed its fine for you to be closed as well
Be comfortable with the silence and try to find a topic that they are excited about.
