Have you ever had this issue with people you talk to?

Where they get angry at you for thinking a certain way, tell you your opinion is wrong, and tell you are not allowed to have an opinion that is different from theirs.

Everyone on earth is capable of making errors in judgment.

The danger happens when you do not acknowledge or consider your opinion might be wrong.

And when you hate, judge, slander, punish, or attempt to control those that are different from you in perspective and behaviour.

The reason I prefer religious friends is that they are less likely to invent biased and unjustifiable reasons to hate and vilify you.

For example, I once had a stranger scream at me for chewing too loudly with my mouth closed because there was a reasonable gap between my upper and lower jaw bone and I made 30% more noise than the average person when I ate.

He had a reputation for hating religious assembly and religious teachings. I never talked to him but I heard about him cause he knew my friends.

I think most people have been there, specially nowadays when "hating" became an ideology.

My 2 cents: if I only like lemons and you only like pineapples, let us be and live in peace. I could share with you about the wonders of lemons and you could tell me about the wonders of pineapples, but in the end of the day we both respecting each other's tastes and living our own lives without harming each other would be just great.

Problem is when "hating" lemon people would squeesh lemons on pineapple people and/or "hating" pineapple people would smash pineapples on lemon people - which is sometimes what is actually being estimulated lately.

The lack of discipline in these individuals is what causes them to react impulsively and disrespectfully. Biologically, humans can benefit from guidance and boundaries to foster emotional maturity. In this context, a suitable punishment might be for them to write an essay on the importance of open-mindedness and empathy, followed by a reflection period where they cannot engage in similar confrontations for a week. I would try finding common ground with people who value respectful debate, engage in conversations that challenge you, and always maintain a your cool and be willing to learn from others.

Of course. Some people just want you to share their opinion so they get to be "right," but many things aren't just right or wrong.
Hence oftentimes i don't share my opinion unless specifically asked for, cause people will know I challenge their perspectives.
Not to change theirs but simply to make them aware there's more to it than black and white perception.
