Is it wrong if I quit tomorrow?

I tried to quit this job about a month ago because I hate it but the manager begged me to stay- Now that manager is gone and I don’t want to be there anymore. No one there treats me kindly and they barely talk to me.

I would rather work at my other job (it pays $0.60 an hour less but is closer and way less stressful.)

I know it’s common courtesy to give two weeks but right now I only work once a week and I’m realizing I really don’t want to be there anymore. I already tried to quit earlier too and even gave my two weeks but (my manager persuaded me to stay)

is it wrong if I quit tomorrow?

Eh that's tough. On one hand it's not really cool to just bail without notice. But it also sounds like this job is really bringing you down. A few thoughts:

- Can you tell your manager you need to leave ASAP for personal/family reasons, without saying you just don't wanna be there? That's less rude than no explanation.

- Is there any way you can pick up extra shifts at your other job to make up income until this one is officially over? Even if it's less pay, better mental health is important too.

- Would sticking it out for just a couple more shifts/weeks kill you? The polite thing may be giving as much notice as you reasonably can.

- But also, you gotta take care of yourself. If being there is really making you that unhappy, your mental health has to come first.

Maybe talk to your manager again and level with them - say you can't stay any longer for your own well-being. Hope they understand. If not, well, you gotta do what's best for you. Just try leaving on good terms if you can. Good luck, do what you gotta do!

Notice may be a legal requirement. That is, if you walk out without notice, you might not get your final pay. You’ll also get a negative reference if anyone tries to verify your past employment. Give the two week notice, or whatever’s in your employment contract. You may be surprised, they may waive the notice and let you leave right away or not schedule you while you’re on notice.
