Yes and it’s pathetic and if your boss treats you like shit for it , I suggest you call labor relations and have he or she fired if he or she makes you feel obligated to do so. We can’t help getting sick , I know it’s a job and we most of us need our jobs but that’s actually considered bullying and your boss can be fired from it. So if your boss gives you shit , I suggest you call and report their ass to labor relations

Yes. Several times. In my line of work bosses can factually order you into work. This is true is many jobs, including law enforcement, military, fire fighting, some medical professions, and others. It’s not out of malice or a lack of concern, it’s the high paced demands of some professions. About half the times I was ordered in I was released as soon as they had alternate staffing or deployable assets.
