Have you ever had a coworker that made you want to quit your job?

Question

Part of my job is to process claims and on Fridays we have to get them all done because of the date in which they were processed in our system. But in order to do this, they have to be checked over by another coworker.

My coworker takes forever to check my claims that need to be processed. They switched over my normal coworker who does them for me and she takes forever to get it done, making it extremely hard for me to fulfill my task of processing the claims on time.

I just want to quit this job because the pay is not enough for her incompetence.

One of the guys that worked at the second place I worked came over to the first place I worked and he was now my boss  And we had a construction job building a gas station and the first couple days i had to go into my boss's office and say, look, I like my job, I appreciate it, but the guy that was running the job Roger, I had to teach him everything and I said I have to do this, I'm doing double the work and I want another raise. He said not right? Now, he couldn't well I know that he could because of the amount of money that they were getting paid for this job so I worked for about another week and Roger went into the boss's office with me and told my boss, I needed to raise because He didn't realize how much he didn't know.
My boss did give me a raise, but I went back-and-forth for 25 years and both really good to me. I mean really good as a matter of fact, I quit where I was working. And I was going to take a 2 week vacation to go meet my real dad and I got a phone call from a guy from California on the petroleum business, and he said that he talked to both my bosses, he was looking for somebody to come help him. Get out of the red , so he called me and I said , okay , but first i'm going to washington to meet my dad , I'll be back in a couple weeks  So in a couple weeks, I went to California, I got a place to live. Started working for this guy and California is bigger than Reno a lot of travel time going from job to job. But I was making the guy between 90 and 98000A month that was there for about 3 years. And I walked into the office 1 day he was sitting at my desk going through my paperwork. Changing prices on the invoices. I asked him what he was doing. And he said, I could charge more money, and I said, yes, I could, but i'
 M trying to get these people back to make more money because lost just about all his clients and I said you can't do that, he said I can't do that, and I'm going to do that, and I said, why. I'm making you almost a $100000 a month, and I've got all these people, all these gas stations, 7 elevens, Chevron shell, and he said a 100000A month, I said yes, and he looked over at the secretary. And then he looked at me and said something to me, and I said, well, f*** y** like, I quit. These are my people, not yours. I'll go to business for myself. And I said, I'm taking my work truck, which was his to my house unloading all my tools, and I'll bring the truck back and he said, I better not do that. And I said, f*** y**, I'm doing it. He came to my house and apologized and asked me if I was really bringing in a $100000 a month and I said, yes, he said 20000I said then you better talk to the secretary because somebody is ripping you up. And I quit right in there anyway and come to find out the secretary and one of the main guys that have been there Forever was taking his Money. If I was you, I would ask if you could get another processor until you find another job.
 Can't they switch personnel around? Because that's just making you look bad and I understand what you're saying. I figured out a different way first before you justwalk away

Yes, just once, when I worked in a prison, there was a woman who worked there on the days that I didn't work in the crisis unit, and she never did a lick of work. It was really a problem. She made me want to leave just because she would leave so much work for me to do.

I went from having the greatest manager ever (always approved off time, super understanding, always glad to fill in when someone called out, knew how to work with us) to the worst manager ever (only ever asked women to stay late, had to do everything by his methods and no one else, never washed his FUCKING hands when making food for customers, made multiple creepy remarks about the women we all worked with, controlling but always played the victim) and that was the closest I’d ever come to quitting.

Nope. This mindset includes at least three types of people. First, the non-confrontational types who just eat the sh*t sandwich when it’s handed to them. Second, apparently people like you who are willing to hurt themselves to “improve” their situation. Third, people like me who want to hurt the person or people who are f*cking with me. Why would you sacrifice YOUR job for a deadbeat? You’re hurting yourself and your employer by acquiescing to that bum.
What would i do? I’d go directly to my boss, and theirs if that’s a different person, and lay the groundwork for my retribution. Then i’d go directly to the slowpoke and tell them to get their sh*t together. Every single day after that, i’d send emails to all of them with status updates about progress or the lack thereof. Eventually either the loser making your life miserable gets moved or terminated, or maybe they fire you for raising a fuss. At least you’ll collect unemployment while you look for the next gig. Quitting is no good for anyone but the bum. Go down swinging!

Yep he was my bestfriend, I quit my job 6 months ago but realized I couldn't quit life. As much as I hate him at times he was part of my life. My job was also part of my life, changing it didn't change everything about my life. I miss what my life was. I miss my bestfriend even if he was a piece of shit that made me want a different life.

I dont understand this to be honest and im really struggling with my new life even if it is "better", it doesn't always feel so.

Well most of them, tbh.

But I was most let down over the summer when I am at the peak of work stress, anyway. They hired someone new in a position that is supposed to support me. Long story short, I now have no support and pretty much do the job alone. She was hired to be part of the manager's clique.

They're mostly extremely ignorant and have very poor listening skills. I remember one instance where I was being pecked by my manager and a supervisor. They asked me a very rudely framed question - full of presumption, kept interrupting while I was calmly trying to explain the answer. It took me 4 interruptions before they finally listened to what I was saying.

Suffice to say, I'm looking for a new job.

Yes, but both were when I was a student, one was my boss at the campus library, another was a cook at a restaurant where I was a server, both kind of sexual related in different ways. Another time I was a server at a diner and another server was catty and kind of a frenemy, I didn’t enjoy that but it wasn’t enough to make me quit.

Yes and I have done so. I can't stand toxic work environments and I refuse to be just like them to keep a job.
I also did it in a very theatrical way.
It was a really good choice at exactly the right time and I felt free.
I found a better job almost immediately and I found an even better job the following years.
I have never been afraid of not quitting a job, I know it always works out the best for me in the end. It has been proven in the past.

Yes, mainly because they were lazy. There were two of them that would leave an hour before me but never cleaned up their area. Finally on a Monday morning, I told them if they ever leave a mess for me to pick up again, they're gonna be shitting their teeth out! Coworkers? No. I've gotten along with most of my coworkers, even the lousy ones. I've also usually like the job more than I disliked coworkers (the ones I disliked). And in many cases, said coworker would either quit or get fired after a few weeks or months.
