Our boss didn't acknowledge the death of her mother on Christmas day after battling stomach cancer.
No flowers, no card and not even a "sorry for your loss".
I'm going to miss her.
I have yes. My mom was attacked at work so I was taking my mom to doctors appointments twice a week. The salon owner got really mad because I was taking time off to help my parents out. She even had the audacity to tell me that my dad needs to man up and care for his wife instead of dumping her off on me! So I told her to go fuck herself and I quit.
I was her main money maker so she begged me not to quit but I told her that I'm the only one that can help my parents out and how dare she speak that way to me about them.
I'm not putting up with a boss or salon owner who treats me like that nor one who speaks badly of my family
No. I got dropped from a contingent job years ago cuz my boss was an idiot. He had to take a training class to figure out how to use excel. But it gave me the impetus to go get a real job.
Yes. Took a job for lower pay with the promise of a raise and bonus after a year. This was a small company with only 4 employees and I was doing the most valuable work. Come to find out I was the only one not getting sick time, vacation time or health insurance. When the year was up the boss hired 10 new employees but told me he couldn’t afford to give me my raise & bonus. I left. That was the last time I ever took a job for less than I really want. Never trust any employer. Even the nice acting ones that talk about loyalty don’t give a crap about you. Yeah, maybe 1 employer out of 1,000 might.
Yes, I have.
I'm not sure if he was as much of a tosser as your boss sounds, but I wasn't learning anything from him, and I didn't like him personally.

Yeah that's like every job I've ever had.
One boss hired a new guy who stole all my shifts when I went into hospital cause he was mates with another employee. My boss then tried to talk down the job as dull after I recovered to try make me quit so he wouldn't have to grow a pair and fire me himself and when I did quit he wanted me to keep in contact in case he needed me. Pfft.
Another got pissed off at me for saying I was tired (not in a negative dreary way, just casually) cause he made me work a 12 hour shift the prior day. He was worried that me saying I was tired might be infectious onto other employees. Whatever. He then made me write a suck up apology letter to a client after I got hit by a mystery shopper 3 days into my new job for making a mistake in my sales pitch, despite never getting any training and having to learn on the job.
And my latest job micro managed me to hell. Wouldn't even let me get off my desk to go to the printer to do my fucking job!
That's very awful, this ain't a boss, this is an animal...
I feel very sorry for your friend, i wish if i can help her...
Anyways her mom is in heaven now and won't leave her...
That's one the reasons why women adore being housewives instead of career ones.
If the woman is single and she was working and had such an issue and i was the boss, i'll give her couple of days off and she will be paid like she's at work, i'll attend the funeral and try to help her and feel with her...
Yes... It was Me going on Meds or Quitting Him or Her Instead. lolxx
When I was in my mid-twenties, yes. There were other reasons also, but he was half the reason. Years later that guy still has a bad reputation here in town.
I've been lucky, most of my bosses have been ok. I have left companies because I didn't like the culture or the direction of top management.
Yea they said we might have to fire you and I was ok bye and left have a much better one now
No. And your friend needs to understand her boss isn't her nanny, she is there to work and not going around looking for sympathy.
Yeah and when I left I gave him the finger. And told him to shove his political semantics up his ass
LMAO... He is your boss not your friend. He owes you nothing except a regular paycheck.
Nope. My bosses don't last very long. All I have to do is wait it out.
yes all my bosses have been horrible
Yes, I use to work in a warehouse and my boss was a right pig. He looked like a fatter version of Michael Barrymore.
Yes I have! (Made damn sure I had another job lined up first!)
Yes, I once left an internship because of that
Its common
Damn that’s cold
Yep sure was.
Just when her family started getting back to what I'll call normality her brother in-law died in a motorbike accident 4 weeks ago.
Thankfully she's gone to work for a pharmacist who used to work with us and he is much nicer. He is aware of what she has been through which made it easier for me to say goodbye to her.
My boss is my dad :)
