I don’t have a lot of experience with sales and I’m uncomfortable either way.

Nah, don’t blow up their phones. It’s most likely that they didn’t want what you’re trying to sell/offer in the first place but you had them on the spot.
They were a warm lead though as in they reached out with interest in my service from the start.
Things change though, like haven’t you ever been interested in something in the moment or at the time, then after you think about it later you don’t want it anymore? Bless you if you aren’t ever indecisive but I’ve certainly had those moments. I’ve also worked in sales and understand that sometimes you have to just read the room.
Yeah it’s just uncomfortable because I am being given mixed advice, like to follow up a few times. Other times I’m told don’t follow up. It’s confusing which path to take.
I’m kind of struggling right now because of so many wishy washy clients I experience.
I do web design (and other related services) so it’s definitely competitive.
I get the gist of what you’re going through, an old friend of mine was trying to make a name for herself as a book cover artist and it’s hard not only getting but maintaining clients. However, you don’t want to press or prod anyone too much just because you saw her potential. Maybe she didn’t factor things like cost and necessity when she was showing so much enthusiasm, I don’t know what her logic would be for ignoring you. In any case though, if you’ve already tried a couple times and she’s dodging you then I’d take that as a sign she isn’t interested.
Yeah it’s so disappointing but I’m learning it’s a numbers game and you just truly have to keep going and putting yourself out there, be positive, and keep learning and keeping up to date on trends in the industry being as great as you can. I am just NOT a good salesperson for the life of me. I was an engineer before ahhhh!
