Job hunting and just feeling defeated?

Been looking for a new job for a while now and I keep reading all these postings and I’m just like nahhh you can all keep your silly jobs. 😔

Just feeling super detached from everything. Like I don’t aspire to this kind of life. I’ve made some money but only because I haven’t rushed into buying a house or anything. Aside from that the industry has just not been that good to me.

Could be the overall climate right now too, just feels like a bunch of clowns at the top of all these companies and industries are driving everything into a death spiral, like things feel BAD right now.

Man I feel you, job hunting is the absolute worst. Makes me never wanna work again just thinking about it. Feels like all these jobs out there are just bogus too. Like who even wants to do most of this stuff anyway?

I'm already kind of burnt out and I'm not even in a new job yet! It's definitely demotivating reading through listings when nothing really jumps out at you. And the longer it goes with no luck, the less hope I've got.

Plus like you said, the whole economy and everything just seems screwed up lately. Like there's some real clowns running things into the ground at a lot of these big companies. Makes me not even want to be part of it if that's how they're doing business.

Maybe we need a big change or something, get away from the standard working life. Easier said than done though. For now just gotta kick back and try not to think about jobs too much I guess, or it'll drive us nuts! One of these has to come through for us soon, it can't suck forever. Keep your head up man!

But you know what, fuck it - taking chances on yourself is way better than letting these clowns control your destiny. I respect the hell outta you for even thinkin bout striking out on your own.

Yeah it'll take work, but isn't that how the real success stories start anyway? Dudes who said screw the game, I'ma change it. You already got the vision - now it's just executing the plan, step by step.

No launch pad yet? Aight, then make one! Break it down - what's the first small move you can take to get the ball rollin? Even if it's just researching more or networking. Every little thing moves you closer.

I was unemployed for a while and it really sucked. I hated going to interviews only to be rejected. I started to think I would never get hired gain. I interviewed for two jobs. One of them was a long commute but sounded like a nice job. They asked for references so I figured I was going to be hired. I never heard from them. I interviewed at another place that was close to my house and seemed to be a good job. The money was good and the boss seemed okay so I took the job. A week later the first place emailed me to ask if I was still interested.

You just got to do the work and believe in yourself. It is all part of the process.

Gosh… same. I used to be so gung ho and motivated a few years ago too, but since Covid I feel like I just can’t see the world in a favorable light anymore.

Job hunting is TERRIBLE. I'm very qualified for my field and it still took over 500 applications over a few months. You just need to keep going.

I was about to work just any job near the end as I couldn't stand not working at all, but then landed a really good one. Hope you find yours.

Thing is, is it’s like all these positions just keep demanding more and more… and if you miss the fine print it’s like suddenly the job isn’t even what you thought it was. Only thing working does is reward you with more work lol. Downsizing companies wanting more and more versatility out of people too. It’s getting nuts.
