Maybe. It's a career that certainly builds up the ego of the doctor.

As for whether it's all good, that is debatable. Clearly a lot of good is done in that field, but also, the same medical philosophy keeps people in a state of perpetual sickness by not looking at and understanding the root causes of disease.

There are decent jobs that pay well besides medical careers. Engineering, air traffic control, just to name two.

It depends if by medicine, you mean actually being a physician. Normally those jobs won't pay that much. Although some engineers make that much.
