Here are some tips for writing a resume without experience:
- Focus on any relevant coursework or projects you did in school. List specific classes or projects that relate to the jobs you're applying for.
- Include any volunteer or extracurricular activities. Things like volunteering, internships (even if unpaid), student orgs, sports teams, etc. can show skills.
- Highlight any transferable skills you've gained. Things like communication, organization, time management, problem solving. Employers want to see skills.
- Customize your resume for each job. Tailor it to the responsibilities and required skills in each job description.
- Use strong but relevant action verbs. Instead of "Studied marketing," say "Analyzed consumer behaviors through market research projects."
- Include a brief "Profile" section at the top with 2-3 of your strongest selling points.
- Quantify your bullet points with metrics when possible. "Managed budget of $500 as treasurer of club with 25 members."
- Proofread carefully for typos or errors. Have at least one other person review it as well.
Keep your resume concise, one page max. Emphasize transferable skills over specific jobs or tasks. Tailor, tailor, tailor to each application. Hope this gives you a good starting point! Let me know if any other questions come up.
Thanks.
You’re welcome
