I reported my work friend for telling me she was gonna kill herself and now she hates me how do I fix this?

I've been friends with this girl for 3 years and are friendship has been kinda toxic for a while but today work she told me she planned on killing herself in April I tried talking to some other friends about it but no one cared so I told my best friend but she's also a manger so she had to report it..

Now all my friends hate me but I couldn't just not do anything. They interviewed her and two other friends and asked if they should call the police. Now she hates me but I'd felt as if I had no choice

I've just checked as well and in the UK it's against the law to knowingly let someone kill themselves

If I'm totally honest I know how this may sound terrible but given recent events today I believe she said this to get a boys attention

A few of my friends have killed themselves. If somebody tells you they want to kill themselves, doing nothing about it is the worst thing. You can talk to them all you want but sometimes that doesn't help. Sometimes things in life are out of your hands and you can't deal with it, so it's best to get more qualified help to solve the problem. The situation was out of your hands, there wasn't more could you do. You shouldn't feel like you betrayed anybody and nobody should be mad at you for trying to do the right thing. Those so-called friends who thinks you should have just kept your mouth shut are scum. Did they do anything to help her? How much do they care if they are just going to let her do it? With friends like that, who needs enemies?

I think you did the right thing. No true friend should refrain from taking action towards helping someone who has any probability of being serious about committing suicide. That's not being a snitch; that's seeking help for someone you care about.

I don't know how to repair the relationship but if she starts to grow up a bit, she and the rest of your friends should realize you did the right thing.

She told you because she trusted you, and wanted you to talk to her not talk to others about her then get her reported.
So how you fix that? ya just don't. Trust be broken so that's that i think. Unless she does not hold grudges but sounds like she does.

Speaking about law it's also within your rights to not have to disclose your mental health issues with your employer. An Employer is generally not allowed to ask about your mental health unless if it's directly impacting your interview and job.
They can ask about disabilities and how that may effect you working here. But mental health like depression no.

You also have the right to no disclose any previous mental health issues, like if you already made an attempt once you don't have to tell them. Or if your at risk of doing it again by law you don't have to disclose it.
Therefore it's in her rights to keep it herself from the employer if she wants.

But legality ain't really what matters here, you talking about how can you fix it welp breaking someone's trust is not a thing that can be fixed or easily fixed. It's more about how she personally feels not what the law say's or what you think really.

Ouch that's terrible! If she told someone about offing herself it raises the question how serious was she or was she just asking for help? It's a personal question really do you feel worse having everyone hate you or worse if she really did it?

You did the right thing, suicide is a horrible thing. If you didn't get it reported it's possible she would have killed herself and that would have been way worse. Better have a living mad friend than a dead friend

Like other people said, but it bears repeating, you did the right thing. Your friend should know that you can't tell someone you're going to kill yourself and expect them to sit on that knowledge and do nothing with it. What if she was serious and went ahead and did it? How would you feel knowing you did and said nothing?

Someone has to be the adult in the room. This time it was you.
