Why can substitute teachers get away with saying things no other teacher can?

HAHA! I see these videos and it reminds my a LOT of my substitutes I had. They were really cool if you were on their good side, but as soon as they got pissed off they just let it out.

Subsitute teachers have the rare bonus that they likely won't be there very long, so they tend to take bigger risks with teaching, and like any gamble sometimes it pays off big time, others they learn why not to teach that way.

I think it’s true. Also when they don’t ever have enough substitutes they don’t wanna get rid of them. It was always a fun time having subs. You never knew what would happen

I've done some substitute teaching for primary school children when I was very young myself. It made a huge difference for the children who where not doing well in a large class that needed more attention. So I've a very positive understanding of the role of the substiture (also a huge bias lol).

Kind of a good point lol. There are also a lot who do it because they want to. Not because they have to. So if they’re fired they aren’t loosing much.

Especially with the shortage now worse then it used to be. They kinda know they can push the limits before being fired
