Why are certain people so against education?

Teaching facts, and history, as well as about other cultures should be something every country strives to do. But the U. S ranks 13th in education, 54% of adults have literacy at or below literacy level. 44% of those who graduated high school go on to earn a bachelor's degree, and only 35% of them go on to even higher eduaction.

I think in many areas the public school system has failed. At most major metropolitan schools a lot of the good teachers are ran out of the school districts. Most are extremely liberal (not all and there are a lot of good teachers that exist).

Math, reading, history, and everything is way below to the point where the bar exam is being lowered because nobody can pass it anymore.

When you have a focus on politics and indoctrinating students (maybe not all teachers but the education system) that’s failing most students. It becomes a major problem.

A lot of people now are uninformed and misinformed. Because of the public education system.

Myths appear more correct when more people believe them and education is Lysol to myths. Add to that the fact that a lot of people have built their self worth around the myths they believe and.. well.. you have your answer.

Don't confuse being against political indoctrination and overly expensive hobbies as degrees for being against education.

Education continues throughout life and is no longer a product of secret knowledge kept by monks in monastic cloisters.

I'm poor af and not part of any elite or anything like that. I went to college and graduated to become a kindergarten teacher. I learned quite a bit in college and I enjoyed. If college was free I wouldn't mind taking more classes. What I'm saying is there are a lot of uneducated and ignorant people in this country. Please don't attack me, I'm about as elite as a rock lol

I wasn't attacking YOU for being elite, I was attacking the notion that education has to be through institutions that have now become corrupted by government, corporate, special and political interests.

Enough free resources are available everywhere to learn almost anything and from any POV, not just the Blackwater or Government approved line.

I don’t make fun of unintelligent people because I know people who are disabled through no fault of their own, their mother smoked weed and got drunk during pregnancy and the child was born disabled even though they were good people who did not deserve to suffer.

People today are lazy. They are told that the world owes them a living. They watch movies and TV shows and everyone lived in a nice house and they have plenty of money and nobody has a job.

I already went to college and graduated. Obviously I'm not going to go to college again, though I'm glad I went the first time. I've learned quite a bit more than I ever could on a youtube video. And no, I would read articles from reputable sources online, many of which are researched and written by colleges, than YouTube videos.
