How can I find out HR at DWP UK , if my own manager doesn't know?

I work for DWP UK. I am handing in my notice but don't have the HR details to send it to.

My manager and TL don't know and payroll said I have to ask my manager. I have looked everywhere and asked various people but no one knows. It's like the secret service.

Hmm that is weird that no one you ask seems to know the HR details! A few things you could try:

- Check your employee handbook or contract paperwork you got when you started. Often HR contact info is listed there.

- Search online for "DWP HR department" and see if their main website has any contact forms or emails listed. Government departments usually have that info public.

- Ask around other coworkers you trust, maybe someone in a different department knows. Old timers usually know secret backchannels.

- Call the main DWP number and ask to be connected to the HR department receptionist. Explain your situation, maybe they can help.

- As a last resort, I'd maybe send your notice by email to your manager AND payroll at the same time so they can pass it along. Cover yourself that you informed them properly in writing.

Hopefully one of those ideas helps track them down! It's weird no one can give you a straight answer. Maybe HR is so secretive they don't even tell managers haha. But good luck, hope you get it sorted. Don't want them claiming you didn't give proper notice!

If your manager doesn't know he shouldn't be a manager. The procedure should be on your company's internal intranet (sssl/oracle if my sources are correct) if your manager doesn't know where to look go over his head. End of the day it's his job.

I am on the sick from work. My manager is awful. I'm being bullied and ostrasized at work by my manager , so I'm handing in my notice. When I emailed her my resignation letter , she said I had to email it in to HR, not to her. I asked her but she just said she didn't know their contact info, and that I should know who hired me. I have no idea who to turn to

Are you an agency worker or employed directly by DWP? Civil service places are usually well organised with stuff like this. I'd email your manager and copy 2 grades above him in explaining why your leaving and demanding they sort it out.

Employed direct. . The department i work for is awful. They just seem to make their
own rules up as they go along

If you're employed direct then it's their job to sort it. Forget your line manager go to his boss
