What should I do after getting rejected from my top university?

I've tried really hard on school this year and have a 91 average but it's not enough... I just got rejected from my top choice business program today and I don't know what to do now. I've only got accepted into 3 programs but they were all backups and the more I think about it, it's not what I really want to do. Should I do grade13? Or just go to another program? But also I've never wanted to do grade 13, and I don't wanna be like one year behind everyone if I do go to university after that...

Dang dude that really stinks about getting rejected, I know you worked super hard! 91 average is seriously amazing, I'd be stoked with that. Don't sweat it too much though, there's always other options that could still be great.

I probably wouldn't do grade 13 if you really don't wanna. Being a year behind all your friends would suck. But maybe see if the backup programs you got into have any flexibility? Like could you switch into business after your first year if you do well?

Otherwise, lots of kids go to community colleges for their first year or two to save money before transferring somewhere else. The credits usually all transfer over. Or you could look at other universities that have the program you want. Usually you can appeal the decision too, so you could try contacting the school that rejected you with any new info or a better personal statement.

Ultimately, just try to focus on programs you'll find interesting - one not as "elite" could still be perfect. And in a few years no one really cares where your degree is from anyway. Keep your head up dude, you'll end up exactly where you're meant to be!

Most of the people your eager to keep up with won't be in your life in a few years.

Choose the best option that you can tolerate for a long period and pays enough to live.
