I don't think there is any mind trick or "other side” involved guys. I think if one already owns the game, then one very clearly is already predisposed to some state of a willing suspension of disbelief. This is a psychological state wherein the individuals involved in the game (or movie watching) are engaging with fiction, and willingly set aside their skepticism and accept the premise of the fictional world of the game even if it contradicts all real-world logic or facts. This allows them to immerse themselves in the game and enjoy the “magical” way the planchette (the actual name of the peace you put your fingers on in the game of Ouija™) moves around the board seemingly “by itself" without anyone constantly questioning its utter and total implausibility, or why Fred is very obviously pushing the bloody thing around the board, to constantly spell out the phrase “I like boobies”!
The name Ouija™ is a trademark of the Hasbro Toys Corporation, (as they acquired the Parker Brothers game company in 1991). It’s purely coincidental that Hasbro also owns such other noted, spiritualistic trademarks as The Transformers! It is not, however, true Linda Blaire played with her Optimus Prime “action figure” on the set of The Exorcist, as they hadn't been invented yet! But they did play Ouija™ until several actors were mysteriously, injured in freak accidents, and then the entire set mysteriously burned to the ground, and the game was officially banned from the set, and in fact the entire premises of the studio! (that's actually a true story)! Parker Brothers acquired the rights to the game in 1966, and began marketing the game soon after. The name Ouija™ was derived from the French word Oui, meaning yes, and the German word Ja, which, well… also means yes! This all seems pretty silly when you think it's supposed to answer questions yes or no, but I suppose “OuiNein Board" didn't sound as good in the market testing! Also World War II was still pretty fresh in peoples minds at the time! The Ouija was first named in 1890 in Baltimore, Maryland by the not at all noteworthy medium and spiritualist Helen Peters Nosworthy, who stated that she asked the board what its name was, and the Planchette suddenly and "mysteriously" spelled out OuiJa. When she then asked the board what this meant, it replied “Good luck”. Apparently, Helen Peters Nosworthy might have spoken to “the spirit world” but she clearly spoke neither French nor German!
The actual board dates back to the early 1100s in China, and when first introduced to Europe it was originally called "a talking board". They were popular from the early 1900s until about mid 1950s when they fell out a favor. Charles Kennard founder of Kennard Novelty Company originally panted the first commercial Ouija boards, in 1901. Although, as previously mentioned, they had been around since at least 1100ce. The US Patent office originally refused the patent for this very reason. They were sold as games by the Kennard novelty company from the early 1900s through the mid 1950s when, as previously mentioned, they fell out of favor, and the rights were eventually sold to Parker Brothers in 1966.
I really hope this helps, and was entertaining. .

@CrazyGirl2 brilliant write up.
@RebelinSteel thank you very much, I really appreciate your extremely generous compliment.
It's a medium to channel demons masquerading as spirits. And I've seen plenty of demons or dark auras around people. It's not just ouija boards that open those portals inside humans. There's a plethora of substances and environments that can suck the soul out of a human and replace it with a demonic energy/possession.
I voted other.
Could be both, could be a scare or a clever designed game, magnets, real.
All I know is, I'd rather sit in front of the television or computer during my slob times as I please, mmm 🥤 🍟 😛
A happy slob 😛👅 is me - no board game for me hahaha
Both @CrazyGirl2 and @EmmaMary summed it up.
if it was real and could do all of this, why has it never been covered with expert witnesses present, or is repeatable with other witnesses present or televised.
That's my point exactly! The James Randy Institute has offered a $1 million cash prize to anyone who can prove scientifically the existence of any supernatural ability. If ouija. boards worked, somebody would've claimed that million dollar prize by now!

It's a complete and utter load of fucking Bollox.
Dammit Mary, you put it so beautifully and succinctly! I wish I had that succinct mind. I would've saved myself 536 words! 🤣 😂
@CrazyGirl2
I must honestly confess to sometimes thinking how/why you have so much time, or even bother in compiling "Church Sermon" length comments/opinions.
Personally I don't believe for one moment that many, if any members, ever bother to read such lengthy points of view.

Well, thank you. I will take that a harsh critique, and I’ll do some thinking as to whether I even want to be here any more!. That answer took me less than 8 minutes to research and write. I simply googled Ouija board, clicked on the Wikipedia entry. It took maybe a minute thirty to read the whole article. Then maybe 6+ minutes to type it out. I'm sorry you're not a fan of my answers, I happen to enjoy and respect yours immensely! However, I actually do get a lot of feedback both in the answers to my post, and in my DM's from many people do enjoy my answers. I'm not here to please the masses, nor amass 7+ thousand followers! I am just an insomniac, and I’ve suffered with insomnia since my uncle raped me when I was 13. I'm simply here to burn time while I can't sleep. I'm sorry that upsets you enough to feel the need to write about it in such a public way.
You will have to forgive my shock, as I have never received a reply to a glowing compliment, with such a snide comment. I still, however have immense respect for you. I think maybe it’s time I took a look at whether I still wish to remain on GaG.
I hope you have a wonderful Sunday.
Laura.
Astral projection is not a good idea. You don't want to enter that world.
It's for stupid people that believe in ghosts
