I read the the book, "Hidden History: The Secret Origins of the First World War" by Gerry Docherty and Jim MacGregor. Mind blown. People who haven't read that know nothing.

The war was planned and initiated in secret by a mere handful of British aristocrats, led by Cecil Rhodes and Alfred Milner, and funded by... guess who? Lionel Rothschild. They fooled Parliament and the British people into thinking that Germany was a threat.

Does that sound familiar with the manufactured conflicts that are going on today against countries like Russia, Iran, Syria, North Korea and others? We are told that they are a threat when it's the other way around.

The motive was to retain British supremacy against Germany's growing manufacturing and global trade.

The total number of military and civilian casualties in World War I was around 40 million. There were 20 million deaths and 21 million wounded. The total number of deaths includes 9.7 million military personnel and about 10 million civilians.

The same kind of psychopaths are still running the U. S. and many European countries, not to mention Israel. Innocent lives and the destruction of irreplaceable things mean nothing to them. It's all about wealth, power and global dominance.

Began with the assassination of Archduke Ferdinand and his wife. Due to popular isolationist sentiments, the US entered the war relatively late. Woodrow Wilson ran for a second term with the slogan, "He kept us out of war," and after the election, he promptly sent troops to France. The League of Nations was formed after the war, a precursor to the UN. The failure to help Germany rebuild created the conditions that allowed Hitler to come to power.

They thought the best way to avoid war was to build massive armies and have complex treaties to help each other out. That way no one in their right minds would start a war.

Problem was the elites in charge weren't in their right minds and after minor provocation through the assassination of a duke no one had heard of by a group no one had heard of the whole plan collapsed.

Not to worry because the upper class had a plan. If we get the lower classes to walk slowly into machine gun fire they'll run of bullets and surrender. The poor didn't mind because sitting in muddy trench for a month before getting your head blown off 3 seconds after going over the top proved you were a patriot.

My great-grandfather fought in it. He also witnessed one of the first bombing raids on a German city, together with my grandfather, who told me about it. Of course bombing raids in World War 1 were harmless in comparison to what would happen in World War 2.

I had a great great uncle who fought and survived it. You’re blessed to know some of what your great grandfather saw. I’m too far down the line and no one with first hand knowledge of him is still living for me to ask. I guess that’s what history books are for. Thanks for your answer.

Glad to hear it. It doesn’t get the attention it deserves. That’s what made me want to study it from the beginning.

Oh, well mine is how it was the last war to ever have the old meet the new. I’m talking soldiers on horseback with planes flying overhead. That’s cool as s*** lol. Thanks for your replies.
