Lot more than I'd ever think I'd know.

The New York Times once made an article decrying the "fake news" that "hitler was seriously anti-semite", saying that individuals reporting is dangerous misinformation, and that it should be left for "experts".

After the war, instead of learning from their lesson they just did an 180º and believed every ridiculous holocaust claim. And then did the same as the above for the soviet union , and then china. Lol!

If you think that's bad, well, that's one of the "good ones", a lot of other lefty newspapers even said nazi germany or soviet union were the future.

A fun result of it all is that most people believe the holocaust was mostly gas chambers and ovens, when in reality it was mostly starvation/sickness/slavery conditions/firing squad and mass graves. And not in germany, but in their invaded territory.
Only half a million german jews were killed, the whole rest were basically all east european jews.

If people had looked at the right places, we would have found those graves, now it's too late. They dug half of germany when they should have started with ukraine.
Unfortunately, swampy areas aren't all that famous for preserving organic matter.
And the choice in locality was on purpose for that reason, among others.
We have a letter from high command telling them to build it all of wood and burn it all later.

There's one holocaust museum where they will show you some meager ovens and tell you that's where they burned the bodies, with a straight face, right next to the pit where they actually burned the bodies in an open pire for ease of burial.
And then they show you a room with windows and say it's a gas chamber, when in all truth, it was an improvised delousing chamber and wasn't big enough to fit the pit with bodies even if they ran in 24/7 like a sardine can.
(there's enough charred human remains there to fit that room a few times, imagine before years of decomposing and before burning.)

Oh, by the way, when I said most were starved or shot, that's speculation, most killing happened "of camera", meaning that we don't have the bodies, or if we have, it's charred remains. They might as well have constructed tons of wooden gas chambers.
But of what we know for sure, most is starvation or execution with bullets.
We know the number because of missing people, they could have used magic, for all we know.
And know here is a very liberal term, our estimations are like military casualties, not like yearly crude mortality. Think +/- 50%, lol! It's an exaggeration, but, yeah, it's very imprecise.

Weirdly enough, that 6M is not that way off from our current best estimate of around 5,5M. But then, it's basically a recent estimate, at the time figures from 2M to 20M were floating around.

That people who have the mindset of many in today's world and of some on this website got into power and caused it. It was one of the darkest chapters in mankind's already sordid history. At least six million Jews, and some others, were systematically murdered on the orders of someone who should rather have given the stocks, a straitjacket, and/or a lobotomy (along with permanent residence in a sanitarium) than any kind of authority, power, or responsibility in his country.

That said, there's no reason to remember the holocaust more than any of the deaths of (millions of) civilians and POWs during the war.
