I ve been working in small companies. Witnessing people come and go and sometimes my turn to leave. It s like hell people been mean to each others.
The salary isn't high and lot of things to tolerate.
I haven't saved much money and look back just wonder what s the purpose of all that.

I have seen so many people being mean and gross to others. Usually a way to express how much the boss or manager dislike the staff. Weird how they won't fire them directly.

Another way showing how important money is. U can't be noble , have good heart without money.

I've been around close to a hundred people who got fired or laid off. They were roughly split between three companies, with a handful at other companies.
At one company I went to work one day to find a sign on the door saying they permanently closed. There was no other information. I never did find out what happened, although there were rumors.
Another company was a tech startup company with about $50 million in funding. A hundred engineers, programmers and support ain't cheap. So $50M doesn't last more than a couple years. One day they had a company-wide meeting when they basically said "Never mind. The tech has problems and the product will cost too much." A week later they laid off a third of their employees. Eventually they were all gone - all the employees and all the $50M gone.
Another company was also a startup. They just loved to fire people for strange reasons. I think in the 15 months I worked there, more than half got fired. Only one guy in engineering got fired though. He told someone outside of engineering what he was working on. That was a big no-no and an instant firing.
