Recently I got accepted into my top 1 choice for graduate program. I am pretty excited to be a graduate student this Fall and I’ve been preparing for it. I finally decided to get my first desk☺️ I’m not sure why I waited for so long, but I wish I have done it decadesss ago! I love it and slowly putting it together!
I just wanted some ideas on what to add for decorations or items on my desk to prepare for a new school year :)
What kind of decorations or items do you have on your desk?
People gifted me mice, german shepherds and I have some geology crystals. My computer hasn't updated in a long time and have been on the fence replacing it. I don't like that game companies play. A person buys something it should work until it stops working not stops updating.
So recently moved these items to my wall of bookcase shelves/mini library. And downsized to a writing desk.
At home: I live with a native Thai partner and her grandson: these people - as part of their culture? - will turn any horizontal surface into a storage area that leaves no room for... ''aesthetics''.
I have surrendered.
The few decorative articles that I own are safely out of reach on some of the walls only.
Is this your desk? I LOVEEEEE IT SM!!! 😍😍😍 I almost got a tower with something similar but trying to budget right now & connect my monitor to my laptop. Yeah it goes perfect with the black interior. As for late for the last few years, I have been doing white interior. But I also love black a lot. So it just depends with the right home for that type of style.
Thanks and tower? Not sure what that is but if you mean that colorful thing at the left, that's my PC. Also, if you plan to paint your room black, you have to be quite lucky you're Windows aren't really facing the sun because black absorbs heat from the sun so much making the room hotter. I got lucky my windows are facing the north so I knew i had to give black a try and I didn't regret it. It looks like a casino, karaoke room, studio or a back stage now which is the intention.
An example that proves that me and minimalism avoid each other. I also have plushies on the shelf above and some other stuff on the other small shelves that are connected to the desk
aw cute! I actually wanna add my plushies on one or two of my shelves too, but slowly putting it together. I'm glad I'm not alone on that! I also have a big pokemon ultra ball with a Pikachu inside that I wasn't sure if I should add in LOL. I was thinking of adding little toys hanging on my monitor or on top of my keyboard lmao.
I like the vibe of your desk too, it is so cute and sweet! Also hello kitty and the strawberry mouse are both very adorable and the boba tea pencil case is very cute! Wow Pokémon ultra ball with a Pikachu inside? That sounds pretty neat! As for Pokémon I have a couple of Pokémon plushies too, but some I have them on my bed and some on my small library beside my bed!
Neither Cubone nor Marowak is there, there are many Pokémon that are not shown in the photo (because they are behind) but Cubone and Marowak were not amongst the batches that I was sent when I bought them 🙁
Other than things to store pencils and small drawers for things, I have a clock that my company gave me for years of service, a picture of my f=wife and I and our wedding, and a diecast model of my car.
Aside from my PC, Keyboard/mouse, Printer /Scanner, an A4 size 4 draw stack containing papers, envelopes, stamps, and various USB sticks, pens/pencils.
