What was the worst company you have ever been employed for?

I've been employed by at least 64 different companies and, although there's been worse than this one, this is the only one I can recall off the top of my head that was terrible.
I worked at a dept. store called, Kaufman's (like Gimble's or Macy's) in their candy department.
I was about 18 or 19, basically, my first job, and my two female bosses were just a couple years older than me. Rather than tell me what they wanted me to do, they just figured I should just KNOW what I had to do. They'd spend most of THEIR time shopping at other stores downtown and then sitting in their office talking about what they bought, how much it was, where they got it, etc.. When they'd come check on me and find that nothing was done, they'd get pissed at ME for not doing what they expected me to do... stuff they never bothered to tell me I was supposed to do!! After I'd been there maybe a week or so, they complained to THEIR boss about me. He had me come up to his office where he yelled at me and threatened to fire me! After he finished yelling, I went back down to work. I had no intention of quitting.
Well, my vision wasn't the best in the world and the only clock I had to go by was outside the office where I worked and about 50 to 75 feet away. When I looked at it that afternoon, it looked to me like it said I had half an hour before quitting time. So, when the half hour was up, I went up to his area and clocked out. He saw me and made some kind of snide remark like, "good riddence", or something like that. It puzzled me but I just couldn't wait to get the hell out of there! I went to my bus stop, caught my bus home, noticed SOMETHING was off but couldn't quite figure it out. I got home and mom asked why I was home so early! "What do you mean, it's 6:00." She said, "No, it's only 5:00." "Oh, shit! I read the clock at work wrong!!" It was 4:30 but I thought it said 5:30!
Seems to me, this was a Friday so, I had 2 days before I had to go back in. I went in Monday morning and was about to punch in when the boss told me to get the hell out of there, I quit and they hired someone else to do my job!

Starbucks beside UCLA. I got into so much trouble with the woke mob. Asked a Patron if she wanted "coffee black? " but apparently because she was black it was a microagression because how i apparently said black even though that was how shd takes her coffee, I got a verbal warning. Another complained when I asked if she wanted cows milk or soy milk for her latte, apparently cows milk was white supremacy and complaints were made. Another time I asked two black guys who weren't buying anything to leave as per company policy and that's when I got fired. There were other mad incidents. Misspelling names, misgendering some lesbian as a man, misgendering some trans as a man, misgendering some man as a woman etc, spoke spainish to some spainish woman and an American Mexican student took office that I was appropriating her language. Seemed every day there was a problem and the company everytime came down hard. Like one woman even stole two muffins and when I spoke to her about it and mentioned about calling the police I was accused of racial profiling her and that the muffins were reparations, I got a written warning.

Definitely the local KFC in my town. It was so bad! Terrible pay, always screwing with your hours and drug users that they refused to fire. We also had to do things way against our job standard (such as cook food and feed it to start animals that hung out around back and provide fresh water for said animals - there was literally a SIGN that stated this in the back).

I got out of there so fast lol

When I was looking for a job in my early 20s Primerica called to tell me they were looking for candidates to help them sell insurance premiums. My dad drove me to this industrial building and it turned out to be a manipulation trick and fake business scam. They also said you had to deposit hundreds for training to join their pyramid scheme. I turned down the offer.

I once worked for a prison and the unit I worked in was staffed by all women except me. In order to do the work that was necessary, I needed to have access to their computer system which they refused to to give me for no obvious reason other than my gender. I put up with this for about a month and I was seriously bored at work everyday that I was there which was not all that often since I was a contractor. Anyway. I finally just quit and told them I wasn't going to be be discriminated against like that. They didn't deny what they had done. If I had really been thinking about it at the time I would have filed a lawsuit against them but I didn't bother.

My cousins pack n peddle ice cream trucking delivery route. Bulk ice cream to stores in all weather. Obnoxious shop owners in summer squeezing every pint to see how soft. Parking truck in 6 inch spaces. I'll pay next week. Just bullshit all around but I can tell you where every good deli is from Manhattan to Montauk!!
