+1 yPee tests in the military. They make you line up and whip your dicks out. They have to observe you peeing. Sounds just fine and dandy right?
But then when I started to pee some Marine dickhead would start yelling at me and I'd lock up. He did it 2 or 3 times until I just couldn't pee. I developed a condition response. These Marines then had us march around in a big circle with our dicks out yelling "I can't pee" while we held signs that said "Can't Pee" on it. Notice I say "we" because it was a bunch of us... Navy (like myself), Army, and other Marines.
This condition response never went away. So I had to deal with having dick lock during all the damn piss tests where you have to whip your dick out and pee in front of other people. Years of that shit and it would still require me to drink so much water that I'm literally sweating just to pee in front of people.
It's strange because I pee just fine in front of other people... but certain public restroom situations will make me lock up, and I think it's just peeing in front of other men. I think I'd be fine if they made women watch me pee. I'm able to pee in front of my wife and girlfriends.

Shit, that was a pretty fucked up situation. It's just one of those things that I feel some sort of shame about even though I know it's not really my fault... like am I just a pussy or something? But... the more I think about it... what kind of weirdo makes a bunch of guys march around with their dicks out or fucks with them when they're trying to pee?
Hope you all had a better time at your jobs.

+1 yGot hired for a part time position when I was younger. 3 weeks in I come into work and am told word for word "we are going to have to let you go" why? "You aren't socializing with everyone enough" well I have a wife and I am building my future is there anything else? "No you show up on time, you do all your work and some, you are always sober, don't cause problems, meet deadlines you are the perfect worker you just don't socialize with the staff" yea... that pissed me off. Why the literal fuck should I waste my fucking time with people I see for 6-8 hours in passing it isn't like our work relies on each other.

+1 yWorked a temp job in a hospital laundry. Just imagine the kind of stuff that is on the laundry in a hospital. Some was pretty obvious. Others I don't even know what it was. And the smell could be bad at times.
These were huge commercial washers. You couldn't be dainty with this stuff. You just had to wrap your arms around it and toss it in. Add to that the heat and humidity.00 Reply
+1 yWorking in factories in general. I remember when I worked in a glue factory. The shit in there was disgusting to work with and the chemical fumes were obviously gonna kill me early. I worked in a steel and aluminum frame factory as well. Same shit. The aluminum and steel dust from cutting it had me blowing black colored snot by the end of the day even when I wore a mask the whole damn day. They're the shittiest of jobs and I feel for people who work them in the regular.

+1 yI'd have to say being a waiter. I already had 3 jobs in college as a bouncer on three different nights a week. So I decided to take another weekend job as a waiter to make some extra bucks. It was a fancy restaurant out owned by a big hotel chain.
I quit after one night. Just could not stand waiting on assholes.
The manager asked me to give it another try the next night, but I just couldn't hack it. Not my style.

I went through this, forced to be basically a waiter to a bunch of spoilt officers for about 5 months. It was one of the most painful (mentally) submissive, and being treated like a bitch things I ever had to do. I still remember almost breaking down into tears begging to be demoted to my prior position of "Juice bitch" just so I could stop being treated like such a slave.
Still to this day, I believe certain personalities are better suited to do certain things. I also believe a job can change one's personality for the better or worse. I watched a guy turn into a lying cheating asshole simply after becoming a salesman. It was like manipulating and scamming people became a point of pride for him because of the job that I couldn't stand to hang out with the dude anymore. It changed how he was with his girlfriends, family, oh and yeah he tried to con-man other friends and myself quite a bit. It also turned him into a thief... he just started stealing random shit. He got court marshaled for scamming the Navy with his pay for more money (claimed he had dependents when he didn't have any at all).
Anyway, enough of my rant... I can imagine what it would be like going from a bouncer to being a bitch on two legs servant having to "just take" the new type of treatment from people. - +1 y

Very insightful comment. I agree that ones work shapes their life in many important ways. That is a manifestation of human nature.
My dad was in the Navy in WWII. In spite of the many outstanding accomplishments he had in his life after his service, that was his proudest to his very end. He used to hate hearing stories about people who disgraced the Navy this way.
Anonymous(36-45)+1 yI worked for a genuine sociopath for 5 months back when I was 24. The guy checked off all the boxes. Never met anyone like him in my entire life. Longest 5 months of my entire work life.
As horrible as that experience was it also taught me a good lesson on what to look out for.

Any job were I don't have to think (mindless work), no variety, and is in the same location everyday... I hate those kinds of jobs personally.

I had to do one of those jobs that was really mindless. Temporary duty from my executive duties which usually had everything to do with personnel management to doing shit like stripping and waxing the deck all night and destroying secret documents with the shredder all night so we could throw them overboard into the ocean.
I used those tasks where I didn't have to socialize and calculate constantly, as time to memorize things. It's why I read and write Japanese despite not having any school or reason outside of my girlfriends at the time to do so. I would just write stuff on index cards and memorize it as I did dumb things like sweeping out spaces and cleaning spaces.

Well, first of all, to be a bartender requires a degree in psychology and counseling, 'cause people will tell you all their problems, which is why they're drinking in the first place! But just think, you get to listen to the cocktail pianist all night! The same tunes every night!
Apropos of the counseling part, you could tell them to listen to a country and western song backwards. Whaddaya get if you play a country and western song backwards? You get your wife back, you get your dog back, you get your truck back and you get your job back! Problems solved!
