In my 1:1 with my manager yesterday, I asked him what I could do to get promoted. I’ve been stuck at the same pay for 3 years, but my responsibilities have increased. I’m a software developer. I started in a more junior to mid-level role and now I’m a tech lead and a mentor, but I’m getting paid the same. I’m not even using the same programming languages I started with.
My manager replied that the best way for me to move up is to move out of the company. I’d already been looking for jobs on LinkedIn for the past couple of months, but the only interview I’ve gotten was a referral from a church friend. I looked at Indeed and all of the jobs I’m qualified for are paying less than what I’m making. The jobs on ZipRecruiter look promising and the pay seems fair, but I’ve never heard of most of these companies.
What are some good job boards, that have reputable companies with competitive salaries and good benefits?

Hmm, besides LinkedIn I'd say Indeed is probably the next best place to look. My brother got his last job from there and he said there's usually a pretty good variety of jobs posted.
Otherwise, you could try reaching out directly to some local tech companies too. Even if they don't have any openings right now, they might keep your resume on file for future opportunities. And it doesn't hurt to make contacts in the industry.
Maybe also check on the career sites for big tech companies like Microsoft, Google, Amazon etc. They're always hiring developers and promotion opportunities are usually better than smaller companies. The work might be tougher but it would look amazing on your resume.
Hope this helps man, good luck with your job search! Don't let your current company lowball you - you deserve to be paid what you're worth.
Ok. I’ll focus on Indeed and try to find some higher paying opportunities. Thanks.
You got it man, good luck! And don't be afraid to negotiate up if you do get any offers - your experience and skills are valuable. Oh, and one more tip - when applying and interviewing, really emphasize the results you've delivered in your current role. Like how you took that mentor/lead position and succeeded. Showing you've proven yourself is huge when trying to land the next step up. You know your stuff, so focus on communicating that confidence. Let me know if any other advice would be helpful as you go through the process. Fingers crossed you find something even better paying soon!
Depends on where you live. I found my job on Seek 2 days after putting up my profile.
There is going to other jobs and asking in person but you get laughed at now.
