    No, I never was.
These days, it's kind of a dangerous job!
    First, you've got school shootings.
Then you've got rangy students to deal with trying to stir shit in class.
Then, you've got highly litigious parents that'll sue you for just looking the wrong way at their kid!!
Mom's friend was a math teacher in a grade school. One day, he gave the kids a quiz and, as teachers are won't to do, he eventually got up and started roaming around the room to see how the kids were doing. He saw one little girl's paper and just told her that she was doing a great job and gave her a congratulatory pat on the shoulder. The next day, he found himself up on child molestation charges for patting her on the shoulder!!

I'm an engineer, but one of my roles is a technical instructor, teaching our customer's personnel how to use and maintain the computer systems we provide for them.

I enjoy that. It's one of the best things I get to do. Interacting with customer operations and maintenance personnel is fun and interesting. It's also a great way to learn about how they use our systems, sometimes in ways we never envisioned.

I used to be a grade school teacher in my 20s. It was actually a lot of plan teaching grade 2. But they oh was sorta shit and other than having summers off, I felt like I never did anything with myself.

I wouldn't have the patience for it. It is challenging enough, training people at work.

Yes, I have worked as a teacher. Taught Anatomy, Massage Therapy, Phlebotomy (as a sub), Medical Terminology (learn those prefixes and suffixes), Accounting, Kinesiology, Clinical Massage Supervision. I liked ODING it, but I abhorred the way the system was stacked in favor of profit and not in having the student actually learn anything. Students that flat out flunked accounting- for example- got "C's" since half of their grade was for "attendance". (If they showed up, they get a guaranteed 50%). Out of a 15 student class (max for one instructor), now was proficient in hands-on work AND tests. A second was proficient in hands-on. The other 13, well - - - - - - - - - -

I help at my son's school. I was going to be a teacher but life got in the way. It's incredibly rewarding, especially with the children they used to call "remedial" or "slow". I spent three days working with one boy getting him to understand the concept of "am" and "pm". The sheer joy in his face when the concept clicked and he was able to tell me what it meant was indescribable.

I teach Computer Science at a local college. I like to interact with students and help the next generation of network engineers. I teach at a really blue collar school and a lot of my students are veterans.

Spent 23 years in public school: liked my job.

In year 7 at private school: love my job even though I'm paid less. Less stress, better behaved students, less paperwork, no poltics from elected officials, smaller class sizes, and more involved parents.

Guillian Barre Syndrome. It's a auto immune disorder activated by the COVID-19 vax. Miserable awful condition. Do not recommend. 0/100
