it's hard, I failed at that and worked like crazy... no relationships.

when you have a solid 9-5 or less job, it's easier... with union protection.

IT jobs, forget it. So many of such people work crazy hours and have to accept that.

Back when I was younger i ran a small company and usually worked 6 days a week. I was going to school 2 nights a week and I had a wife and 3 kids. It was very demanding. To cope I drank copious amounts of malt beverages.

  • Maintaining a healthy work-life balance requires setting boundaries, prioritizing tasks, and practicing effective time management. Dedicate specific times to work and personal activities to avoid overlap. Don't hesitate to delegate tasks and seek support when needed. Make time for personal interests, relaxation, and family to recharge. Engaging in regular physical activity and mindfulness practices can also help manage stress. Tools like calendars and task management apps keep you organized. Remember, achieving balance is an ongoing process that requires reflection and adjustment as your work and life evolve.

I've found that it's extremely important to schedule relaxation and "me" time, AND DO NOT COMPROMISE ON THAT TIME. You can't be afraid to set aside time for yourself. For me, that time is 5:30-7am. I also have a few social activities that I go to regularly throughout the week that I am similarly insistent about.

My approach is to be uber disciplined about my time. When I'm at work, I'm at work. When I'm on break, I'm on break. As long as you're sticking to your schedule and getting everything done that you need to get done, your coworkers and social contacts are generally going to respect the demands you have on your time.

Depends on your job and personally life…vs the financial aspects… is the money worth it?

I didn't for 10 months and then did for 2 months alternating for 20 years. Such is the life of a teacher...

Je moet beseffen dat werk niet het belangrijkste is, als je weinig tijd hebt, moet je overwegen om minder dagen te werken. what heb je aan een veeleisende baan als je geen tijd hebt om te ontspannen?

Unknown. Most of the time I can have someone else deal with extra demands, but some clients insist that I handle the projects myself and those can end up consuming 20+ hours of my weekend.

If it's a demanding job, you're making a choice to stick with it and your life takes a back seat. At least for now. When you get bored of the stress, then you look for something more balanced.

No your worth. If you’re not worth as much as you’d like, make yourself worth more to employers.
