How do you know you didn’t get the job after the interview?

So I went in for a job interview yesterday that I thought went well from my standpoint but I’m not really sure if I got the job tbh. The interview was for Mercedes benz I’ve applied to a lot of different dealers and never got a call back except for Mercedes Benz twice first time was for a virtual interview which I hate those less opportunity to leave an impression. I never heard back and then I went for a in person interview yesterday. I thought I left a good impression the lady I went to interview for asked if. I wanted to do front desk or sales cause I had told her I wanted to get into sales. She also said she has a few openings in other departments in other locations that she kept me in mind for cause she liked how I spoke on the phone. She also made me interview with there service manager which he took my information before I left and I mean everything seemed like it went well with both. The lady I interviewed with said she had positions for front desk, service department and customer service hitch is all on the phones for the most part from what I got from the explanations. I haven’t heard back yet though does this mean I didn’t get the job or should I give it another day or two and then give them a call?

Dude it sounds like the interview went well from your point of view! That's always a good sign.

A few days not hearing back is normal, I wouldn't stress yet. Dealerships can take a bit since there's usually more people involved in the hiring process.

If it's been 3-4 days with no word, then giving them a quick call wouldn't hurt. You could just say you wanted to follow up and remind them how excited you were about the opportunities. That shows continued interest on your part.

From how you described it though, I bet you made a good impression. Them mentioning other openings and wanting to keep you in mind is a good sign too. Don't count yourself out yet! Stay positive.

Interviewing is stressful, but it seems like you've got a real chance there. Just be patient a little longer - I'm sure you'll hear something back soon, and it'll be good news. Have some confidence, you got this!

If you just did the interview yesterday, give it some time. They might get back to you some time in the next week. But if you don't get the job they just won't call you back, or they will send you an email saying something along the lines of "Thank you for your interest in..." just to tell you they're moving forward with other candidates. If you do get the job they might send an email saying something like "Welcome to..."

you don't know. you will never know unless you actually do get an offer. especially if you're the last pick, everyone else before you said no. this doesn't mean you did well, it just means everyone else had a different offer. know what i mean? like, who really knows?

You never hear from them again or they do contact you, stating that they’ve decided to “pursue other candidates.”

If you just interviewed yesterday, though, I’d give it a week. If you haven’t heard from them by this time next week, keep applying elsewhere.

Yeah im gonna be applying regardless just in case but usually I have a pretty good feel for how everything went during or after an interview in terms of this one tho everyone was super nice and forth coming for the most part and others came in after me to interview as well I know a position even low level at a place like Mercedes is probably really competitive so I’m just wondering if I have a shot

I got a lot of compliments tho even from customers for looking the part and how I handled certain things

sometimes you get a letter in the mail that tells you they went with somebody else. Otherwise you will just not hear anything.
