Have you ever been hired after being fired?

Regardlesd who you worked for or gir fired by, had any employer ever had a change of hearth and re-opened the doors to a new chance!

Closest I've been was a chance to go visit my old work place leaders that have fired me. With one employer gave me a free meal and 20 mins of his time to talk about life goals. The other case was about 3 different visits to that work place to drink coffee with them.

I have never heard of rehiring, a change of hearts in the working world! So have you heard of these cases of humanity?

During my 19-year stint in the Philippines, I worked for an ambitious local Mayor and a corrupt Congressman who both belong to the same political party (which is why it was okay for me to simultaneously work for both of them).

During that period when I worked for both, un unrelated scandal which I was a main party to surfaced and came to the attention of both my then-bosses.

It was strongly advised by the party leaders to terminate my position in the party even though the incident that got me in hot water had nothing to do with my position, my performance (which was exemplary), my bosses and the political party.

Apparently, my successors fumbled the job and subsequent campaigns for the Congressman and the Mayor so badly that they lost so many points in the polls for their elections.

In their last-minute ditch to regain any hope for their campaigns, the party leaders, the Mayor and the Congressman all asked me to return to reassume the position which I worked so well.

Since I started another business after I was fired, I simply turned them down.

My businesses flourished with my full attention to them.

Meanwhile, both candidates eventually lost their elections.

At some point, I thought I would be getting fired because the company fired many people, but in the end they just moved me into a different role.
So far, I have never been fired, I have only quit.

Yes. I talked about it in a recent MyTake I posted, but my manager at my previous job forced me to resign (technically, I resigned... but I didn't have a choice). I already had a job lined up at my current employer.

Not long after I "left", the manager realized what a horrifically stupid mistake he'd made in asking me to leave. About a month before, he'd also told me that my job would probably be eliminated within a year, which never happened! He eventually left himself. The guy who took the job after him asked me to come back, but I didn't. Besides, I was about a month away from a huge promotion anyway.

Its common these days to have bosses change every year. You must have been recomended by your coworkers in order to get a call back!

It must have felt good to counter-reject that job! I wouldn't return anywhere I am not wanted in!

As a matter of fact, I was. One of the guys I used to work with said to the manager "hey, you should call Ranger and ask him to come back." And he agreed!

Later, he became the manager himself. He texted me to ask me to come back. They wouldn't have been able to afford me though.

I personally haven’t been but every situation is different it could be a issue with old management but there is new people, it could have been layoffs due to financial issues, it could have been performance issues but someone has gained new experience as well as education so they got hired back, it could be a number of factors as to why someone got fired.

So yes, it can happen but that’s entirely up to Management as well as why they fired you in the first place.
