Yes, I worked for a really strange company. I was hired to manage a group of technicians and engineers. I applied for a technical position but was offered this job. Every time I tried to tell the people I was supposed to manage to do something they would complain to my boss about me. There was a guy who decided to "work from home" and he did nos show up. Thr next day I sked him where he was he told me he decided to work from home. I told him that it was okay to work from home but he needed to tell me so I knew where he was. He complained about that.

My boss used to schedule meetings with me and not show up. I would sit in an empty conference room for an hour and look out the window.

Th HR lady told me what a great place it was to work. Then she was gone and nobody talked about her. Other people would be gone and it was like they never existed. It used to take me about an hour to schedule everyone's day nd then I had nothing to do for the rest of the day but try to look busy. i always had the feeling I waam sure my internet usage was monitored.

I was there 7 weeks and my boss tells me he wants to talk to me. Then he tells me I am fired. He tells me the engineers were complaining about me. But he never really told me why I was being fired. He even admitted that I showed up on time every day and that I did everything that they asked me to do,

I have. It was a long time ago, and not from a job I held very long (maybe...4 or 5 months).

It made sense. I had a growing dissatisfaction with the realities of my employment there; which I was unable to hide. (I didn't try to hide it very hard, to be fair).

I still think that boss was an asshole. But I got over it.

Plenty of times, I've also quite plenty of times or just let go after a little while just because they couldn't afford it or they went out of business.

I was laid off due to company downsizing, several years ago. I wouldn't call that being fired.
